Two years ago, I bought a small rv so that I could transport rescue dogs from South Texas to their forever homes across the country. I made my first trip in April 2025 with my husband by my side. I knew it would be a slow start but told myself I would give it a solid year. If we weren’t headed in the right direction (financially) in a year then I would have to sell the rv. I’ve been hoping each month would be better than the last, but I just haven’t built up the rescue clientele I hoped for to sustain the business. Almost every trip has been funded by our household savings while also accruing debt. Some months more than others.
I want to thank you for trusting me with your dogs. I know how hard it is to truly entrust the care of these dogs to just anyone. They all have their own set of needs and a history that requires compassion, patience and a firm grip on the leash.
Rescues. Thank you. Handing your rescues to their new families has brought me so much joy. It’s the best part and I know you wish YOU could be the one to do that part—the fun part. Thank you for letting me stand in the gap.
Adopters. Thank you. For letting me get excited alongside you. For letting me into that special moment you met your much anticipated pup.
Summie. My co-pilot and friend. Thank you for enduring with me. For loving these pups as much or more than me. For being trustworthy and always pointing me to Christ.
As of now, I am not dissolving my business. If a job comes along that I can make work in our family van, I will certainly consider it.
If you know someone looking for a transport vehicle, the rv is for sale. It would also be an amazing adoption event vehicle with its temperature control capabilities. Or a mobile boutique or mobile office. I have it listed on Facebook Marketplace for now.
Again, thank you so much for your support, kindness and faith.
I want to personally recommend Wiggle Butt Transport run by Kimberly Salisbury for your future transport needs. I learned a lot from Kimberly and while her business is new, she has been transporting for years. You are in good hands.
Again, thank you.
