I just saw on Facebook that today is National Black Dog Day! I kid you not. Here’s our favorite black dog—Anna. She is 14 with hardly any gray. We all should be so lucky, lol.
Anna celebrated her 14th birthday this week. She has very little gray—we all should be so lucky! I attribute her youthful appearance to her life of leisure. She has been spoiled since April 2009 when we adopted her from the TSA’s Canine Explosive Detection Program at Lackland AFB. (She “bombed” out of bomb school.) She first saw Dr. Kohnen three days after we got her, and he and his staff have taken great care of her and her high-maintenance Furmom ever since. She is still eager to take a daily walk and tell you when it is time for supper. We love our Anna Girl!

Don't tell Dr. Kohnen but Anna had two suppers tonight! One of my daughters and I went to our neighborhood pool and didn't get home until 5:45. I fed Anna when we got back. I found out later that my other daughter had already fed her at 5:30. She finished both bowls. She then had the nerve to mooch after dinner. Chow hound!
