Dr. Klippen mastered a rigorous and demanding application process and certification examination in order to obtain Diplomate status with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. To qualify to sit for the extensive, two-day examination, a veterinarian must complete either a residency program or six years of clinical veterinary practice. In addition, two case reports, references, descriptions of practice procedures, and professional education records must be submitted and pass review.

The animals that are anesthetized at EPC are generally more ill and higher risk patients than most. We strive to have the highest trained staff taking care of those animals. Every year our techs go through an anesthesia lecture series then put into action what they learned at staff pet "Spay Day." Though we anesthetize and sedate animals several times a day we are always wanting to learn more so we can achieve perfection. Tech Week continues and we are going to highlight several more members of our wonderful staff. Pam and Doris have been fixtures at EPC since the beginning. All our our staff has been trained and mentored by them and EPC would fall apart without them. Shelby is a skillful problem solver and can adapt to the curveballs emergency throws our way. Pete is always ready with a quip and his dry sense of humor makes the day go by quickly. Danielle and and Rachelle are masters of patient care. There is not a dog or cat around that dislikes them and they can calm the most stressed out animal. Shannon's willful determination keeps her laser focused on the problem at hand. This video is of Cowboy who has facial tremors after licking flea preventative off the household dog. His owner had no idea something she put on her dog could make her cat sick. Cowboy has made a full recovery and his Mom said he is 100% back to normal.
