5 year pony camp buckles are in! Each of these kids has shown up for summer camp for FIVE years in a row. Five years of extreme heat, chores they didnt want to do.. ahem p**p duty 🤣, and five years of persisting through frustrated minds, and muscles weak from fatigue. Those who struggled to carry their own saddle when they began, with work, now sling it up on the horse’s back with ease. My method has been an equal mix of guidance, tough love, and letting them be uncomfortable so THEY can learn to problem solve and correct. I have been blessed to put on these camps sandwiched between two generations, the previous and the next. My mom, with over 50 years of equine expertise, has shared her priceless wisdom with each of your kids, no doubt making them toe the line, for we all know Grandma demands excellence. My daughter, Zoey, who has grown up alongside your kids, will one day take the reins to the business.
Whether they ride for fun every year at camp or show competitively, each of these kids has grown and matured so much over the past 5 years. I can remember those who could barely open their juice box during that first year at camp now help the little incoming kids with theirs. My little ones who were on shy and quiet now bounce into my house like another home.
Many of these kids have committed to lessons year round, horsemanship devouring their every spare minute. Each of them started as a starry eyed child just happy to breathe in the smell of a horse, giggling uncontrollably when they got to go a little bit faster or when they felt the hot breath of a horse on their neck. My students that have trained with me full time I can now speak to as fellow horseman; about timing, feel, advanced concepts, and watch with great pride as they spread their wings and try out different disciplines and avenues within the horse world.
My program was designed, not to keep these kids here with me forever, but to train horseman who are confident and competent posessing a solid foundation to go try new things.
It has been the joy of my life sharing your babies, watching them grow, and shaping the next generation of horseman.
