Puppy strangles is a rare but treatable immune-mediated condition most commonly seen in young puppies. It can cause swelling of the face and lymph nodes, hair loss, scabbing around the eyes and muzzle, and sometimes lethargy or fever. It is not contagious to other dogs.
With prompt veterinary care and medication, many puppies recover well. 💛🐾

abdomen, painful, shocky, r/o underlying LH hock injury vs metatarsal fx, pulmonary contusions, other underlying long bone fx/pelvic injury/fx,
other underlying trauma, internal organ injury
iv cath, 7.2% hypertonic saline iv over 15min then lrs iv fluid bolus, then cont @ 2xmaint
thoracocentesis neg- suspect pulmonary contusions
performed wound clip/clean/flush/honey bg along LH distal limb wounds, stabilization with skin staples to oppose skin edges and assist with
healing- staple removal in 2 weeks
