💛 Meet Brandy, the 8-week-old puppy who's already stolen everyone’s hearts! 💛

Brandy's owner was faced with a heartbreaking decision when she developed a life-threatening condition called intussusception, where a part of her intestine telescopes into another, causing severe vomiting, bloody stools, and intestinal blockages. Unable to afford the surgery she needed at a local ER, Brandy’s veterinarian reach out to Dr. Jess and Brandy's owner then turned to Sunflower Sanctuary for help.

Thanks to the amazing care of Dr. Jess and a team of volunteers, Brandy underwent life-saving surgery and treatment. We're thrilled to report that she's now back to being her playful, adorable self! Dr. Jess's expertise and compassion, combined with the sanctuary's commitment to providing affordable care, gave Brandy a second chance at life.

We're grateful for the trust Brandy's owner placed in us and for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. Brandy's story is a testament to the impact that compassionate care and community support can have on the lives of those in need.

A literal miracle pup! ✨

From dying to thriving! Eight-month-old Osito was referred to Dr. Jess with a life-threatening intestinal blockage after his owners couldn't afford the surgery and hospitalization at a local ER. Dr. Jess performed emergency surgery, and upon opening Osito's abdomen, she discovered a large intestinal perforation - a critical finding that complicates treatment, especially in a shelter environment where hospitalization isn't an option. Despite the challenges, Osito's owners were determined to give him a chance, and Dr. Jess did everything possible to save him, sending him home with a complex medication regimen and a lot of hope. With daily check-ups, Osito defied expectations and steadily improved. Now, over a week post-surgery, he's back home with his owners, expected to live a full life.

Osito is one lucky pup to have owners who fought for his life and a medical team that went above and beyond to give him a second chance. We are grateful for the ER team that worked with him and sent him our way for help! His story is a heartwarming reminder of the impact that compassion, dedication, a bit of luck, and quality care can have on the lives of those in need.

At Sunflower Sanctuary, we're honored to be a part of Osito's journey and to play a role in bringing hope and healing to families and their beloved pets. We're grateful for the trust that families like Osito's place in us and for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. 🌻

✨ What a glow-up! ✨

Meet little Vienna, the tiny miracle! ✨ This adorable little lady was just 8 weeks old when she was rescued from the brink of death, suffering from a severe gastrointestinal disease. Thankfully, Sunflower Sanctuary swooped in to take over her care, giving her a second chance at life. And what a transformation! Vienna has made an incredible recovery and spent the last week with her loving foster family. And the best part? Her foster family has fallen head over heels in love, and we're thrilled to announce that Vienna has found her forever home - a classic foster fail, and we couldn't be happier for her!

This is Miss Mae - she is a 6 week old puppy that was attacked by another dog in the home. She was relinquished to Sunflower 🌻 when she was found to have a laceration suspected to involve her esophagus, and was facing euthanasia. Mae will *hopefully* be getting surgery to have her wounds repaired tomorrow and on the road to recovery and a long, full life!
