I know I haven’t posted anything for a while. That’s largely because when Mabel gets home from daycare, she eats and sleeps. Notice her spanking new collar! Then notice the one it replaced. Can you say “countless collar grabs?” I knew you could! @ Salt Lake City, Utah

Dad usually gets up earlier than Mom, so after he goes, I cuddle-up on his pillows. I’ve not been feeling too great lately. My mom was really scared, because I lost muscle and weight, and became lethargic. After an ultrasound and a colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with a colitis specific to Boxers. The great news is it can be cured with a specific antibiotic, which I’ve been taking for a couple of weeks. I’ve gained weight, and like my new food so much I sometimes ask for an extra meal! I know my mom will give it to me, she wants me to gain weight! Now that I feel a little better, I got into what Mom calls an “argle-bargle” at daycare, which is a dust up without serious injury. Without *serious* injury, that is. In our scuffle, my ear got torn! The tear was very clean, so the vet just used surgical glue to glue the edges of the tear. The vet and my mom are making me wear this collar while it heals, though. Now I can’t get through any of the dog doors!

It's been really hot here, and we didn't have air-conditioning for about a week until yesterday. I started sleeping in the shower on the cool tiles. It reminded my mom of when she was a kid, and her Saint Bernard Grushy used to climb into the bathtub when it was really hot. Using my mom's postulate of "all Naomi's dogs, dead or alive, are in communication with each other," she's been wondering if it was Grushy who told me to do this! *Darwin* has never done this. I guess Grushy doesn't talk to *him!*

10 months. I had hoped to get a picture of her poking around outside, but I wasn’t feeling great. We’ve realized that while Violet was loud and bossy, Mabel is sneaky and naughty. She isn’t actually sneaky, though: She’ll counter-surf something off the counter I’m working at, while. I’m. standing. right. there. Thank god we finally figured out how to lock the dog door (they came with the house). She could push out the cover, and run outside. We had to barricade her in until we figured out how to lock the door. The trick is to be smarter than your dog....
