✨ Feature Friday: Hershey ✨

Meet Hershey (Buckeye’s Hershey), a 10-year-old Friesian/Percheron owned by Mary Barsan.

Hershey has taken Mary in a completely new direction. After years of focusing on hunter/jumper and eventing, they’ve shifted toward Working Equitation, building a strong foundation in dressage to navigate obstacles and develop new skills together.

Hershey is a truly special partner — brave, kind, incredibly smart, and full of personality. Over the last three years, Mary has loved developing their partnership and exploring something new together.

And of course… he has a sense of humor too 😅�Hershey was previously trained to lie down on command — which became very memorable during a clinic. While Mary was trying to swat a biting fly away with her dressage whip, she unknowingly gave the cue… and Hershey promptly laid down in the middle of the arena. Safe to say, it caught everyone off guard!

We love seeing this kind of partnership and personality at Renaissance 🐎

Renaissance Equestrian Center is proud to offer large-scale stall rental, distribution, and installation through our partnership with Sunset Valley Metalcraft.

We are now able to support events and facilities with up to 450 stalls, making us a strong option for:
✔ Horse shows
✔ Clinics & large events
✔ Temporary stabling setups
✔ Facility expansions

In addition to Michigan, we can now mobilize to Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, allowing us to support a wider range of equestrian events and operations throughout the region.

Sunset Valley Metalcraft stalls are known for their durability, professional design, and reliability, whether used for temporary or permanent installations.

We’re still reflecting on such a fantastic weekend with Stephen R Hayes at Renaissance.

Thank you to all of our riders and auditors who made this clinic such a great experience — it was wonderful to see so much focus, progress, and positive energy throughout the weekend.

We truly appreciate everyone who participated and helped make it run so smoothly. We’re excited to continue building on this and bring more opportunities like this to our community.

✨ Feature Friday: Susan Rigetti ✨
Susan is newer to Renaissance, having joined us about a month ago, but brings with her over 25 years of riding experience across multiple disciplines.

From western to hunter/jumper, and now expanding into eventing, Susan is currently working with her young OTTB mare while also enjoying time with her 30-year-old Arabian gelding — a special combination that reflects her appreciation for every stage of a horse’s life.

What stands out most is how she describes riding — not just as a sport, but as something almost magical. For Susan, riding is like stepping into a real-life fairytale — partnering with a powerful animal and heading out on adventures together.

Outside of the barn, that sense of adventure continues — she’s passionate about horseback safaris and loves exploring the world from the saddle.

We’re so glad to have Susan as part of the Renaissance community and look forward to watching her journey continue.
