Pictured here is Bear. He was adopted and all was well. Then after about a year, his person brought him back so he could travel. We offered to keep Bear until he got back from his trip. He refused, handed Bear and his leash to me and walked away as I held Bear and tried to comfort him as his person walked away and never looked back. I sat with Bear and cried with him. My heart was broken along with him.
Bear would thrive in a home as an only pet with someone who can take him for walks because he loves walkies and is very good on leash. Bear is a Bernadoodle, weighs about 25lbs, and is 6 years old. He is housetrained. No children and a calm, quiet household for Bear is necessary.

UPDATE: THIS DOG WAS PRIVATELY ADOPTED. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷10+ year old male schnauzer, 30lbs. Committed foster NEEDED. All Vet care is covered by the rescue. Nice dog. Well behaved and mellow. Has a myriad of senior/neglected dog medical issues. Any questions and inquiries PLEASE EMIAIL [email protected] because we will not see inquiries posted here. Urgent! Please share so this old guy can have a better life than he has had. 🩷🙏

We would love to save this distinguished gentleman but we cannot do so without a foster home in our area and some funds. He is at very high risk for euthanasia and there is not much time for him...days if that. He has some skin issues and is clearly not a german Shepherd. Shelter staff did not even bother to notice that. He was surrendered by his owner because the owner said they could no longer afford his care. This boy is terribly sad and despondent. The owner said he has been around all sizes of dogs, children, cats, does not pull on his leash and has never shown aggression. However, those claims need to be fully evaluated. A committed foster home would save his life. We fully vet all foster homes, so if you can foster or otherwise help this boy, then email [email protected] and PLEASE include your location and phone number in the email. Please do not express interest in fostering him here without a follow up email to us because we may not see it in time.

‼️important. ‼️ We did not get a single donation for Giving Tuesday. 😓 We are not flashy and we are small, but most of our dogs are lifers because of behavioral and/or health issues. We cover medical care for their entire lives which includes dental care, vaccines and medications. Senior dogs get expensive. Kelsey, alone is on two different medications for his collapsed trachea that total over $300 a month. Jeremiah pictured here, is a senior and behavioral. It is unlikely we will ever find an adopter equipped or willing to care for him. He also has severe allergies and must be on Apoquel daily. If you have had a dog on Apoquel, then you know how expensive it is. Heidi, a recent adoption return because her mom passed, is on a prescription kidney diet. It's expensive. Please donate. 🙏 no amount is too small. Please share this post so we might gain more support. We are small, but our mission is mighty and we are truly no kill. We ONLY euthanize when no medical intervention will be beneficial. We do not make any dog suffer.
