Last weekend, the farm came alive, from our Teens who Care volunteer event, hosted in partnership with Do Good & Shine Brightly Foundation, Inc. and All The World’s Kids, to our sold-out Nightmare Before Christmas Dinner, every moment reminded us how community and connection keep this place growing. The day began with middle school girls learning all about the pumpkin, then they carved, peeled and enjoyed pumpkin soup made from their pumpkins. Betsy did an excellent job leading our Tasting Tour, did you know you can come spend an hour learning about us, our mission, and our history, all while tasting the rainbow that is currently in bloom? As usual, Chef Zachary outdid himself with dinner, and, in our costume contest winner, found a Jack to match his Zach!

Today is Día de los Mu***os, a time to honor those who came before us, to remember their stories, and to celebrate the love that lives on. It’s also the perfect moment to look ahead to Monday’s Good Grief Community Dinner: The Ancestors Edition, a night to gather, reflect, and share a meal beneath the stars.

🐾Wednesday Wisdom with Jacob🐾

The November calendar has arrived, and it’s filled with cozy dinners, creative workshops, and quiet moments to gather as the season shifts.

One special evening we want to highlight is the Good Grief Community Dinner: The Ancestors Edition, on Monday, November 3rd from 6–9 PM.

In South and Central American tradition, early November marks the Day of the Dead, a time to honor those who came before us, to celebrate their lives and the legacy they left behind. Inspired by that spirit, this dinner offers space for remembrance, reflection, and gentle connection.

We’ll share a beautiful meal together, light candles, and co-create an altar of photographs and mementos, small symbols of those we love and miss. You’ll also be among the first to experience the farm’s new Wind Phone, a quiet place to speak to those no longer with us, carried only by wind and trees.

Your grief is welcome here. So is your laughter, your love, and your longing. Join us as we honor our ancestors and each other, finding comfort in community and the nourishment that only shared tables can bring.

MISSION MONDAY
At 15th Street Farm, everything we do starts with our mission statement:

💚We are a non-profit urban organic farm that facilitates learning and community building around healthy food from soil to fork.💚

From school gardens that teach kids where food comes from, to Meals for Moms that nourish mothers in need, to farm-to-table community dinners that bring neighbors to the same table, every seed we plant grows more than food, it grows connection.

Healthy soil grows healthy food, and healthy food grows a healthy community.

📅 Each Monday, we’ll be sharing more about the individual programs and initiatives that bring this mission to life, from education and wellness to sustainability and community impact. Stay tuned to see how it all connects from soil to fork.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate FIFTEEN YEARS of 15th Street Farm. What began as the small idea of a therapy garden has grown into a place that feeds, connects, and inspires our community. Saturday night was the perfect culmination of the seeds that were planted 15 years ago, a moment honoring our past but hinting at everything still to come. Chef Zachary Crossman’s menu honored the farm’s story beautifully and, like the farm itself, the evening was truly magical.

Our next feature dinner is Saturday, October 25th's Nightmare Before Christmas at the Farm. Costumes encouraged, memories guaranteed. It’s the last dinner until November 8, so reserve your seats soon.

Thankful Thursday starts with a big thank you to everyone who came out for the official launch of Pappy’s Green Sauce at our fiesta at the farm. The night was full of flavor and community, and that sauce truly does go on everything. 🤤

And now our biggest thank you yet. Thank you for fifteen years at 15th Street Farm, fifteen years of planting, growing, facilitating learning, and community building. Fifteen years of turning neighbors into friends and food, from soil to fork, bringing us all together. 🎉🥳🎊
