A Channeled Message From The Animals... What they want us to know 🐾✨

We need to sit back and look at things from a different perspective. Our animals often see us rushing in, reacting. Sometimes they mirror this back to us, and while it frustrates us, we don’t always notice how we do the same in our own way.

Be the cat on the back of the sofa—observing, staying centered as the family moves around. 🐈

Be the horse who waits, curious about another’s intention before choosing to engage. They aren’t cautious, just discerning: “Do I want to interact with that? If not, that’s okay. I’ll move on.” 🐴

Take the analogy of people in a grocery store. We can acknowledge others, but we can also choose who we want to stop and chat with. In the same way, pause before reacting. Check in with yourself: How does this feel for me? This isn’t about judging anyone else—it’s about honoring what feels right for you while leaving space for others to do the same.

Cats and donkeys show us this beautifully. They know what they want and make choices that respect it. We can’t control how others respond, but we can honor our own feelings in a loving way. 💖

So the next time your cat or horse moves away, don’t take it personally. See it as them honoring what feels right for them. Then ask yourself: What energy am I bringing? Am I tense, worried, or hyper? Or do they just need space for their own reasons?

And if you want to go a little deeper, ask yourself: Why does this touch me in this way? What is it within me that reacts? Our animals remind us that their lessons are not only about them, but also about what we can discover within ourselves. 🪞😽

Last week, rain ☔ surprised us at our Donkey Cuddling event, so we had to move indoors — a first for most of the donkeys. I explained what we were asking them to do, pictured each step for them, and told them they’d be the stars of the show with so many people excited to meet them.

✨I asked the herd to show me if they agreed by stepping forward. After a pause, Fiona bravely moved first, and the others followed.

There were moments of hesitation, but they let us lead them into the building, greeted their guests throughout the day, and truly shined. Fiona checked in with me throughout the day and even let me lead her back afterward — a sweet reminder of the trust we build when we talk to our animals. 💖

Talking to our animals isn’t just cute — it’s a bridge to deeper trust, love, and partnership. Next time you need your pet to do something, try telling them what you’re asking, why it matters, and what it will look like. You may be surprised by how much they understand.

Meet Gamora, a red-footed tortoise with a need to wander. 🐢

After slipping out of her pen and being missing for days, her dad, who had been unable to find her and worried about her safety, reached out to me to connect with her.

He knew she had been unhappy in her pen, and she admitted she broke out intentionally while he was at work, because while she didn't want to break his heart, she felt a strong pull to be able to wander and knew he would try to stop her.

Gamora shared that while she loves her home and family, she needs to explore too. Her dad listened, acknowledged her need, expressed his concerns for her safety, and promised supervised outdoor wanders if she came home.
The very next day, Gamora was found safe and reunited with her family. ❤️

Her story is a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when we listen to our pets. Communication helps us understand each other’s needs and find solutions that honor the deep bond we share.

In my irritation and emotional reaction to my cat's behavior, somehow, I managed to pause—and I’m pretty sure that “somehow” was actually me hearing her message. The moment I got it, I shifted from irritation and worry to a little bit of awe. She was showing me.
