Hey y’all it’s been a minute! For those who’ve followed since the beginning of the year you’ll know that my health declined rapidly and I made the decision to not breed any more rabbits for the rest of the year. That plan still continues but I’m choosing to extend that break even longer in order to pour all my energy into my Service dog in training, so I downsized to 5 rabbits. I kept my best and the rest have left. I kept my 4 pets, Evie, Frank, Jasper, and Goose as well as one of my nicest harle doe who I don’t believe I’ve ever introduced… anyway her name is cricket and she’s the cutest little brat ever. So I no longer have any harlequin buck’s except for Pua who still hasn’t found a home yet. I’m so sad to see my bunnies go but I need my service dog so that one day I can start back up again! But apart from the rabbits the homestead continues, we have my moms chickens, our garden, and ofc the pet bunnies and the bunnies that get to hang out until I’m ready to start breeding again (aka Cricket) thank you so much to everyone who has stuck around during this crazy year it’s meant a lot!💚

We’re gonna take a break from breeding rabbits for the rest of the year, we’ll probably kick the harlequin program back ...

We’re gonna take a break from breeding rabbits for the rest of the year, we’ll probably kick the harlequin program back up in March but for now I just need a break. The rabbits will he very happy to have the summer and winter off☺️

Very happy to say that Pua DOES NOT carry magpie! Which means all of winky’s kits are Japanese and man are they gorgeous! Super high Rufus so far especially on the blacks I’m soo excited to have blue Japanese! Evie will be bred in October as well as my new junior doe and Evie’s daughter catnip hoping for all Japanese!

Let’s talk! Please please please only inquire about rabbits if you really want them!! I go above and beyond trying to get these rabbits so friendly especially when I know they’re going to kids or to be 4h rabbits, the bunnies going to 4h are worked on showmanship just as often as my own 4h rabbit is, I work so hard on these guys and I’ve had a ton of people completely ghost or back out when it comes time to drop off the rabbit. From now on dep0$it’s will be required before every I can not keep on moving around plans, driving out to meet people, work showmanship, and make sure these rabbits are beyond friendly just for people to back out.

Winky would like to remind our friends that bunnies have to stay cool too!

Rabbits regulate temperature with their ears which is why Holland lops and other dwarf breeds have a rough time staying cool luckily harlequins don’t have that problem😉

How to keep your bunnies cool:
1. Frozen water bottles! They’re winky’s favorite as they also work as a toy but the bunnies love to flop next to them!

2. Frozen tiles, these work well too but they don’t stay cold quite as long as the water bottles

3. Frozen fruit, this makes a great treat as well as a great way to cool them down. Keep in mind some bunnies won’t eat if they’re too hot

4. Misting, I try and mist the bunnies 2-3 times a day it’s a super easy way to cool them down and they stay cool for quite a while. Please remember not to get them super wet, a light layer of mist is plenty!

5. Rubbing ice cubes on the ears, this works very well for Holland lops! It’s a fast way to cool them down and they will love to eat the ice cubes after your done!
