Animal welfare and behavior studies have shown that improved management practices for pullets can enhance their growth and improve both their physical and mental condition. This, in turn, benefits the productivity of laying hens.
Xiaohui & Qin et all, 2022, investigated the main management practices that can improve pullet growth, as well as their physical and mental condition, thus benefiting the productivity of laying hens. The management practices include housing type, flock condition, and environmental management and enrichment.
The aim of the study was to provide the necessary information for integrating animal welfare into chicken farming, highlighting its importance for optimising both the quantity and quality of poultry products.
