We’ve been ready to do custom shirts for almost a year, but haven’t done a hard launch, as our other products and life in general have kept us pretty busy. We offered a free shirt as a sponsor prize at our local fair. The young woman who won it has been a long time friend, who grew up with my daughters in 4-H. She won it on her heart horse, who very similar to my youngest, bought him young and trained him virtually by herself through hours and hours of weekly riding over the years. He also has many of the same characteristics as my daughter’s horse, so much that we call him his “Mini me”.

Their favorite color to show in was green, so she brought me her pad. I ordered the shirt and carefully picked out gems, as there were no other colors in the pad besides white and 5 different shades of green. I remember messaging her a pic of the stone layout and we both exclaimed how excited we were to get started on this shirt. Tragically, the next morning, she found her beloved gelding had passed during the night. They were an incredible team. He was a nice mover, and simply loved by her fellow competitors.

I struggled hard with this shirt as I was simply devastated at the loss this young woman was going through. Making her a shirt that she had intended to show on her horse who was no longer with us, broke my heart. 

She says she will show again. Likely on her young mare she’s currently working with. And when she does, I added a little token of love for her horse, That only she knows is there.
