As we prepare for a new chapter and a big move, I want to take a moment to thank every one of you who has supported Central Florida Drone Recovery. Whether we helped reunite you with a furry family member or you simply cheered us on, your trust and encouragement have meant the world.

As of now, all operations will be paused. I’m so proud of the work we’ve done, the lives we’ve touched, and the moments we’ve shared. This isn’t the end, just a short break while life steers us in a new direction.

Please read this message. We cannot stress this enough

There’s been a dramatic increase in the number of lost pets, especially during 4th of July due to fireworks.

Animal shelters nationwide report a 𝟯𝟬-𝟲𝟬% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟲𝘁𝗵. Sadly, only around 𝟭𝟰% 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 with their families after running away due to fireworks. The fear and anxiety caused by the loud, unpredictable sounds of fireworks, which can trigger a fight or flight response in pets, causing them to escape.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲!

Indy, a black Labrador with an adventurous spirit, went missing from Roll Over Pet Boarding Facility while her family was away on a cruise. Her mom, Vanessa Gonzalez, reached out with a desperate plea for help that touched the heart of the community.

Without hesitation, Central Florida rallied together. Indy's story was shared far and wide, even reaching FOX 35 Orlando, uniting trappers, pet rescuers, and neighbors in a combined effort to bring her home. With traps, cameras, and food stations set up—including a tempting treat of Publix chicken—hope was rekindled.

On April 14th, we launched our drone equipped with thermal imaging technology to aid in the search. After some accelerating hours of searching, Indy was finally spotted! The incredible news energized everyone involved! She was found trapped in an abandoned warehouse area, unable to find her way out. But with eyes in the sky and swift action on the ground, we made the rescue and reunited Indy with her family. This was such a heart touching combined effort of compassionate advocates: The Calm K9, Meredith Dixon Craig, Lana Smith, Karen Barth, Dave Youmans, and Central Florida Drone Recovery.

It is incredibly beautiful how our beloved pets, fur babies, can bring the community together 💕🐾

We are so happy share that Indy is finally home safe! After a few hours of searching for her, we finally got eyes on her. This was such an exhilarating recovery🐾

An Altamonte Springs community is coming together to search for a missing dog while it's family is stuck on a cruise. FOX 35's Caroline Coles has the latest.

After an exhilarating 2-hour chase, Luna the Schnauzer is finally safe! Thanks to our thermal drone, we could track her movements through the pitch-black night and bring her home 🐾

After 16 long days of searching, we’re overjoyed to share that Sadie, Australian Shepherd puppy, is finally back home safe and sound with her loving family! She’s such a speedy little pup that tracking her down was quite a challenge.

For three days, we searched tirelessly until we finally spotted her and figured out where she had been hanging out. Sadie was understandably scared and easily startled, so we decided that setting a trap would be the safest way to bring her home. The family set up a cozy feeding station and some traps, and to our delight, she couldn’t resist some delicious Publix rotisserie chicken! ❤

In moments like these, patience is key. When pets go missing, they often enter survival mode and can be frightened. It’s so important to stay calm and avoid scaring them away. If you find a lost pet, remember to take a deep breath, stay low to their eye level, and approach gently without shouting or chasing.

A beautiful Shiba Inu, Sakura, went missing after she managed to slip away from home. Her parents were devastated to receive the news while they were out of town, prompting them to rush back for a desperate search for their beloved fur baby. After days of searching, Sakura was eventually seen at a nearby construction site, where we managed to locate her using the drone while she was still anxiously running about. Fortunately, she is now back home, safe and sound, reunited with her loving family ❤️

As pet recovery drone pilots, we want to share a few reminders:

Please ensure your pets are safe tonight! Fireworks can be extremely loud and frightening for our furry family members. Keep them inside. If they need to go outside, use a leash. Regardless of their training, behavior, or whether you have a fenced yard, hold them securely and keep them indoors whenever possible.

Please remember to bring your pets in and secure your pets before the New Year festivities begin. Pets can be sensitive to sounds and smells. Playing soft music or having a tv playing for them can soften some of the sounds they may hear today. This is the time when people lose their pets because they become scared and run off. Please know where your pets are at all times during the fun. We wish you a safe and fun New Years Eve.

Ricky the Longhorn! This remarkable longhorn managed to escape from the owner's property, came back the next day, and then left again with the rest of the family's cattle. We're thrilled we spotted him in this large piece of land, helping this family in safely returning him and the other cattle home. Talk about a party animal!
