More dogs are lost on the Fourth of July than any other time of the year! Please be aware of the dangers of fireworks and keep your pets safe in the upcoming days. Here are a few suggestions to help ensure your pets safety during firework season:
*Make sure your pets ID tag is legible and collars fit snug so they will not slip off during an emergency
*Check your microchip company to ensure the information on your animals microchip is up to date and accurate
*Inspect your fenceline for loose boards that your pet could slip through or dig under
*Keep pets indoors with the radio or TV on to muffle the noise of the fireworks
*Close your windows, animals are masters at escaping through windows and screen doors so please be aware of this!

You might notice that Squid seems a little different. Well...he is!
Squid was born with some congenital abnormalities that are responsible for some of his facial features, goofy coordination, and a few other unique qualities. But he has never let any of his differences stop him! Squid is full of life and loves to constantly be around humans. Some of his favorite things include head scratches, sitting on shoulders, and yelling for food.

While Squid is able to handle most of his abnormalities on his own, he does require some extra care. He does best with a raised water bowl, shallow litter box, and regular baths to keep his nice long fur clean. (Since Squid grew up getting baths he loves them and will even start purring!)
