Camp Patriot Animal Rescue & Sanctuary

Camp Patriot Animal Rescue & Sanctuary Welcome to Camp Patriot Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, a place where animals in need find safety, love, and a second chance at life. But we can't do it alone.

Founded by lifelong animal lovers Nick Jongebloed and Tara Ballard, our sanctuary is more than just a rescue—it's a dream come true, a promise kept, and a commitment to providing a safe haven for animals who need it most. At Camp Patriot, we currently care for a diverse group of rescued animals, currently including 25 dogs, 8 cats, 7 pigs, and 8 goats. Each animal has its own unique story and dese

rves a loving environment to heal, grow, and thrive. Our sanctuary provides that environment, offering both foster care and permanent sanctuary for animals who need long-term support. We need your help to continue our mission. Here's how you can support Camp Patriot and make a difference in the lives of these wonderful animals:

One-Time or Recurring Donation: Your donation goes directly toward our animal food and vet costs, which run into the thousands of dollars each month. With so many mouths to feed, every contribution counts. Whether it's a one-time gift or a monthly pledge, your support helps us keep our animals healthy and happy. You can donate here: www.givesendgo.com/cprescue

Sponsor An Animal: See a pup that you love, but can't adopt? You can choose to sponsor them with a monthly donation that will go towards care. Anything in Between: From volunteering your time to donating food and supplies, there are countless ways to get involved. Every gesture of support helps us continue our work and expand our impact. Amazon Wishlist: We'll be sharing this soon! By donating to Camp Patriot, you're not just supporting an animal rescue—you’re joining a community of compassionate individuals dedicated to making a real difference. Together, we can ensure that these animals receive the care and love they deserve. Thank you for considering a donation to Camp Patriot Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. Your generosity fuels our mission and brings hope to the animals who call our sanctuary home.

Here's Daisy running the trails with me. She is one of early rescues of the six that we have saved from ex*****on in Rowan County.

She's very good about staying on the trails... she runs off when she smells/sees things of interest and her recall/return is sometimes not so good and she takes her time. But she always comes back and we're far enough off the roads that she's generally safe on her little run abouts through the woods.

Silver saved lives.

Because of last quarter's Support & Score fundraiser, we were able to cover vet visits, meds, and food for our most vulnerable rescues. 🙌

Want in on this quarter’s drawing?

Oh Happy Day! 🐾

Zora was adopted today to such a sweet work from home family!

Zora has been with us for quite awhile, and we love her dearly.

While it's sad to see her go, she also deserves her very own humans who can give her alllll of the attention!

What a wonderful couple of days we've had!

Yesterday, The Conservative Women of Forsyth County, held their annual fundraiser for us in Lewisville, NC. A great time was had by all, and we are SO GRATEFUL that our dear friends raised over $1100 for our Rescue! 🙏

One of our Support and Score winners was there in person, and he received his 10oz bar of silver in person. How cool is that?

Then today, we were blessed to be able to deliver a much-needed pallet of dog food to Rutherford County Animal Services.

We have some big plans coming up where pet food distribution is concerned, and are working on some exciting things in that regard! Our hopes are that we are able to serve Rutherford County and other parts of WNC in this regard.

Stay tuned!

Seriously...it's such an easy thing to do, and part of responsible pet ownership!

We have some exciting news! Our team is growing!

We are small, but mighty :-).

Introducing our Community Engagement Coordinator, Vania Elliott!

Vania comes to us through what can only be described as serendipity when she needed help placing a Great Pyrenees whose owner (and her dear friend) passed unexpectedly.

After speaking with her, it became evident very quickly that Vania is not only a HUGE animal lover, but she also has a ton of experience coordinating volunteer efforts through prior work with Habitat for Humanity.

Vania will be assisting with fundraising and volunteer outreach, grant research, and other projects that will further the cause of CPARS.

Welcome, Vania! We are grateful you've joined us in our mission!

Rusty and Chrome! They hated the experience of going to the clinic to be spayed and neutered. But now that they are back at Sanctuary they are so happy! Also in this video are Cimba and Daisy... 2 others of the total of 6 dogs we have saved from Rowan County Animal Control just in time before they would have been killed.

Thinking of adding a furry friend to your family?

Please adopt—don’t shop. ❤️🐾

Every dog and cat in a shelter or rescue is there because a human let them down. YOU can be the one who changes their story.

🐶 Woof Wednesday Spotlight: R***r!

This sweet 3-year-old shepherd mix is the whole package—smart, loyal, and full of playful energy. R***r loves belly rubs, fetch sessions, and long walks (especially if snacks are involved).

He’s medium-sized, up-to-date on vaccines, and neutered. Bonus: He gives excellent side-eye if you’re late with dinner. 👀🍽️

Message us if you'd like to apply for adoption!

☀️ Sizzling temps = serious danger for pets
Please don’t forget: if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.

✅ Walk early morning or after sunset
✅ Keep paws off hot pavement
✅ NEVER leave pets in the car (not even for “just a minute”)
✅ Provide shade + LOTS of fresh water

Let’s keep them safe this summer. They’re counting on us. 🐾💛
