‼️‼️URGENT NEED ‼️‼️

We are in urgent need for donations to get one of our sanctuary pups, JoJo, to the vet as soon as possible . She is having some bloody watery diarrhea and vomiting. If we’re able to raise enough funds we will take her to the emergency clinic in lake Charles today , if not we will have to wait and take her to our regular vet first thing in the morning . I had meds here at home for vomiting and diarrhea and was able to stop the diarrhea for the time being but she is still throwing up.
If you could please find it in your heart to donate to get this sweet girl to the vet ! She is not feeling good at all 💔.
You can donate by clicking the donate link below , but it does take us a few weeks to get those funds through Facebook when donating through the donation button.
We can get the funds right away if you donate through our Cash App $buckysbuddiesrescue

If you can’t donate please share our post !

I’d like to introduce one of our sanctuary pups . This is Punk ! I’m sure his leg is what caught your attention.
Let me tell you a little bit about Punks rescue story.
I pulled Punk from one of our local parish shelters. He came to the shelter as part of a cruelty case . The shelter listed him as rescue only. They would not allow him to be adopted from the shelter because of his leg injury. The shelter knew he need to see a vet asap. They thought his leg was possibly broken long before and he never received medical treatment , so his leg just healed that way . After we pulled him from the shelter we took him to the vet for X-rays and we then find out he was born this way! Fixing his leg now would be more painful for him and the vet recommended if he wasn’t having any issue with his leg then it was best to leave it this way. We’ll let me tell you exactly how well Punk gets around on his crooked leg……
After pulling Punk from the shelter he went to a foster . Punk was initially set to go to an out of state rescue, from us, after getting vetted. He would have likely only been with the foster for a couple of months . Punk, if I remember correctly , was only with his foster for a couple days when he escaped !!! A door was left open and he ran out. Of course he ran out , he was in a strange place with strange people and he saw a chance to escape and took it , you can’t blame him . (Don’t get me started on some fosters being too comfortable with these dogs that are in flight mode, I’ll save that rant for another day ). Let’s get back to the great escape . I got the call that punk had escaped so I immediately went to the fosters neighborhood to try to help find Punk . Didn’t take me long to spot him in the neighborhood , he was still hanging around the area, thank goodness. Punk and I played a cat and mouse game for a day or 2 and then we decided to put a trap out. I thought to myself , he must be really hungry by now ! We didn’t have the trap out 5 minutes and he was already going inside , but the trap didn’t go off 😳! So we had to reset the trap so that he could set the trap off when he stepped inside . Thank goodness he went right back inside a second time . He was in….and the door slammed behind him !!! At that point I thought it was best I find another place to keep Punk until he could leave to the out of state rescue . I needed something temporary and fast ! So I set up a dog pen under my daughters carport at her house , I put a nice kennel inside of the dog pen so he would have a little safe cozy place to get in to sleep until I figured out other arrangements. We got punk settled in the dog pen and we left. I had to make a quick trip to lake Charles, there and back. But As soon as I got back from lake Charles I ran by my daughters to check on punk and to spend some time with him . I pull up in the driveway and my heart sank !!! The pen and kennel inside was empty !!!! Can you freaking believe this !!! This crooked leg dog has escaped this 6 ft pen !!! God must have been watching over me and Punk, because he hadn’t gone far , he was hanging out behind my daughter’s house at the time. We decided to set the trap up again and just pray he would fall for this trick again , and he did !!! He walked right into the trap for a 3rd time ! This time I was not taking anymore chances with this escape artist, I took him home with me !!! I sure didn’t have room for another dog at the time but I wasn’t losing this dog again !!
At my house we soon learned Punk could climb fences like it was nothing , go under fences , do anything and everything a dog with normal legs could do…. And more !!! Punk was a very skiddish shy dog. As we got to know Punk we decided it was in his best interest that he doesn’t travel . At the time the rescue he was going to was actually planning on sending him even further up north to another rescue and they were planning on transporting him by volunteers who drive so many miles and then hand the dog off to another volunteer who then drives for so many miles , so on and so on until the dog reaches his destination. In my opinion that’s not the safest way to transport a dog when you have a skiddish escape artist dog. Too many hands for the dog to pass through , too many chances for an accident . At that point I made the decision that it would be best for Punk to stay with us and maybe one day he would be ready for an adopter , and if not that’s ok too . Turns out Punk doesn’t take well to other folks. It took him 5 years , yes you read that right , 5 years to even allow my husband to pet him . Yes , my husband gave it his all the entire 5 years to win punks trust. Finally that day came and my husband is his favorite person !
For years in the beginning we had to put Punk on a cable in our yard when we would let him out to potty so he couldn’t escape ! Now , finally , Punk can go out without being tied to a cable to go potty . I think he finally realizes and trusts that this is his home and no need to jump the fence to escape or see if the grass is greener on the other side . Punk loves us and we love Punk something terrible!
Oh yea , and Punk was given his name PUNK after the many escapes in the early days 😂! I think the meaning of his name is self explanatory 😂.
We do have a favor to ask , Punk is in terrible need of a teeth cleaning / dental . If you could spare a few dollars to help our crooked leg Punk to get those chompers cleaned up I know he would greatly appreciate it❤️!

Our sweet toni ❤️! She’s almost 17 years old. She has heart issues, a grade 6 heart murmur . She’s blind and we think she’s about half deaf . Sometimes I think she can still hear a little bit but im not completely positive she can. She’s my ❤️. She lived with multiple people before coming to us. It was said by one of her previous owners that she use to fight rats bigger than her. Now how true that is , I don’t know . I’m hoping it’s not 😳! That’s why my husband says when she slings her head like that when she’s eating she remembers slinging rats around like that 🤣.
Toni requires a lot of special care and attention, and I’m happy to take care of her in her senior years. I wouldn’t take a million dollars for this little old lady ❤️!

A glimpse at a few of our sanctuary pups. 3 of our sanctuary dogs was diagnosed with a tick borne disease , hepatozoonosis. They were literally on their death beds when they came to us. They still suffer with the disease , they have relapses during the summer months. It can be very painful for them when they relapse. We’re able to treat them with antibiotics when they do have a relapse .
