Even though I was very excited about this litter, I knew in the back of my mind it was veryyy likely that Jamie would produce another peanut. I had a feeling this morning while walking over to check her nest box.

Peanuts are baby bunnies that basically get β€œtoo much” of the dwarf gene and sadly do not live long term. You can tell the size difference compared to the normal baby bunny.

While not every litter goes as we have hoped, we are still thankful for the opportunity to care and watch over this little one while it is still with us 🀎

Miss Jamie has safely kindled this morning!

She had 3 chunky kits, 1 DOA and 1 peanut. Not the out come we were hoping for but I’m grateful for the healthy ones and a healthy momma. It always breaks my heart when I know from the start one will not make it.

Letting momma rest and finish up nesting for now then we will get a better look at the babies 🀎
