Meet Joseph. ❤️

Joseph was found in our Bush Baby colony, a colony we have been working hard to TNR. One of our dedicated volunteers, Joe, heard tiny cries coming from the bushes and went to investigate. That's when he found this little fighter all alone.

Our volunteers searched the entire colony area but did not find any other kittens.
Joe then brought Joseph to our volunteer Maria, who welcomed him into her care and arranged for a veterinary visit to address his medical needs. Joseph had an infected wound on his neck that required treatment. His tiny belly was very full and full of worms that needed to be addressed.

Thankfully, Joseph is now safe in our care and thriving. His wound has completely healed, and his tummy is no longer full of worms, allowing him to properly absorb the nutrients he needs to grow and stay healthy.

Joseph's story is a reminder of why TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) is so important. Life can be incredibly difficult for kittens born outdoors, and sadly, many do not survive.
By supporting TNR efforts, we help break the cycle of suffering and give cats a chance at healthier, safer lives.

our little siamese “boy” is actually a girl 🤍

which is why we haven’t announced the winning name just yet.

when she first came to us, none of that mattered much. she was tiny, grieving, exhausted, and just trying to figure out how to keep going after losing her siblings.

but as she’s gotten stronger, braver, louder, and full of life… we realized something important:

she deserved a name that felt just as hopeful as her story.

the leading name in the contest has been beacon — a symbol of hope and light. and while we still absolutely love that name, there was another name in that same spirit that kept pulling at our hearts for this little girl.

so instead of announcing a winner today…
we think this survivor may have just written her own ending.

Some stories stay with you forever, and Gem’s will always be one of them. 💎

When we first introduced Gem and her tiny jewels to all of you, these babies had just entered the world. Gem had spent her life surviving near a truck stop, doing everything she could to protect and care for her kittens while never truly knowing safety or comfort herself.

She gave birth to four beautiful girls — Jade, Ruby, Pearl, and Opal — and one sweet little boy, Jasper. From the very beginning, we worried about the odd number of kittens. We wondered if one baby might end up left behind, waiting for their perfect match while the others moved on.

Earlier this week, Gem went home to her forever family — a home where she will spend the rest of her days spoiled, adored, safe, and finally receiving the love and attention she always deserved.

And just as life looked out for Gem, it looked out for her jewels too.

The very first adopter who came to meet the kittens planned to bring home two… but left with three treasures instead: Jasper, Ruby, and Pearl. Just hours later, another family fell completely in love and welcomed Opal and Jade into their home together.

In what felt like the blink of an eye, this little family who once struggled just to survive found everything we could have hoped for them.

Rescue can be exhausting and heartbreaking at times, but moments like this remind us why we keep going. None of this happens alone. It happens because people choose to care. Because fosters open their homes. Because supporters donate. Because adopters say “yes.” Because this community continues to believe that every cat deserves a chance at a safe, loved life.

Mission Meow is so incredibly honored to have been part of Gem’s journey and to witness this family’s story end in love, security, and happiness.

Meet Jasper — tiny adventurer, professional troublemaker, and future very large handsome cat. 🧡

This sweet buff tabby boy is curious about absolutely everything and always wants to know what’s going on. If there’s a toy to chase, a room to explore, or another kitten to wrestle with, Jasper is first in line.

He’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly social with both people and other cats. After a busy day of zooming around the house, Jasper is more than happy to curl up for a cozy nap with his siblings or foster kitty friends.

And yes… the paws are truly enormous. We’re all pretty convinced this little guy is going to grow into one very big cat someday.

Jasper has the sweetest personality and the kind of fun, goofy energy that makes people fall in love instantly.

This gorgeous dilute calico girl is always right in the middle of the action. Ruby loves chasing her kitty friends around the house, starting playful wrestling matches, and then immediately cuddling up for a nap like nothing happened.

This gorgeous dilute calico girl has never met a stranger and believes every activity should include her participation. She loves zooming around the house with her kitty friends, exploring every corner she can find, and then trotting over to her humans to report back with a series of adorable chirps and tiny meows.

Jade is playful, curious, affectionate, and incredibly social. She’s happiest when she’s near her people, whether that means supervising chores, asking for attention, or curling up nearby once she’s finally worn herself out.

This little girl is still just a kitten herself—about 6 months old—and already very pregnant.

Cats can become pregnant shockingly young, sometimes as early as 4 months old. That means a kitten who should still be playing, growing, and learning the world is instead carrying and soon raising babies of her own. It’s a cycle that continues quickly and endlessly without intervention.

Pregnancy and delivery at this age can also be dangerous. Her body is still developing, which increases the risk of complications during labor, difficulty delivering (especially if the kittens are too large), infection, and even loss of her life or her babies. It’s simply too much for a growing kitten to safely handle.

Thankfully, one of our Mission Meow volunteers was able to trap her, and another volunteer stepped in to help get her to a TNR appointment and support her through recovery from her spay surgery.

At only about 6 months old, she was far too young to be facing motherhood. Kittens having kittens often face serious complications, and many kittens do not survive when litters are born to very young, first-time mothers outdoors.

Now this young kitten will get the chance to finish growing up safely outdoors, without the stress of raising litters or dealing with roaming males or facing the risks of a dangerous and complicated delivery at such a young age. She now gets to simply be a kitten herself and grow up to be a cat living in peace. 🐾
