Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, Inc. Rockford IL Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Rockford, IL. Make Adoption Your First Option. We adopt out cats and dogs.

We were founded in 1978 to provide housing for stray, unwanted and abandoned animals. Adoption Requirements:
1. We require 1 adult in the household to meet the animal. For select animals, we may require that multiple/all members of the household meet the animal.
2. If you have a dog, then your dog must meet the dog you intend to adopt. You must also bring proof that your dog has his/her rabies va

ccine.
3. If you own your home, you must provide proof that you own your home (i.e. mortgage statement or tax bill). If you rent your home, you must provide written approval (i.e. lease or letter) that states you can have the animal in your home. Adoption Fees:
- Puppies 8 weeks - 6 months: $350
- Puppies 6 months - 1 year: $325
- Dogs 1 year - 10 years: $225
- Dogs over 10 years: $100
- Purebred dog with papers: $400
- Purebred dogs without papers: $350
- Kittens under 1 year: $100
- Cat over 1 year: $50
- Purebred or exotic cats: as listed

All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations for their age, dewormed, and given 30-day flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Meet Missy! 🎀 This pretty girl is a 2 year old French Bulldog. She was surrendered at no fault of her own. Missy is a sweet, social, loving and spunky little girl. She loves people, gives the cutest little snorts and is ready to be your new best friend. She was in a home with other dogs but she will need to meet all dogs in your home prior to adoption. This handsome man is a 1 year old Husky mix. He was surrendered because his owner was moving and could not take him with. He is now on the hunt for his new, loving family. Kash loves people and gives the best hugs ever. He is a very affectionate boy that wants to be as close to you as pawsible. He does need some more training but he is eager to learn. Meet Koda!! 💙 This handsome, blue-eyed boy is an 8 month old Husky. He was surrendered because his owner was moving and couldn’t take him with. Koda is a spunky, sweet, playful boy that loves to make new friends. He is working on his manners and socialization and he is eager to please. He loves going on walks and would make a great adventure buddy. He was in a home with 2 other dogs and does great with them but he will need to meet all dogs in your home prior to adoption. How has our handsome green-eyed boy not been adopted yet? 💚

Andy is 10 years young and is our eldest Ark resident. He is on his 3rd stay here and we’re hoping it’s his last. He was adopted as a kitten in 2016 but sadly in April 2024, he was returned after his owner passed away. Andy thought he found his forever when he was adopted again in July 2024 but he made his way back here again in July of this year. Him and the other cat in the home were not getting along. We’re really hoping 3rd times the charm and he finds someone to love him forever! 💕

Andy loves to be held and cuddled. He would make a great lap cat and companion. He works full time at the bakery as the best biscuit maker. And he greets you with the best purrs. 😻

How can you adopt a furever friend?

We are so excited that you chose Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary Inc to help you find the next purr-rect feline companion or fur-ever canine friend! We are very proud to help over 1,000 animals a year find their homes. Thank you for choosing to adopt. Please review our adoption requirements below.

1) EVERYONE IN THE HOUSEHOLD MUST MEET THE ANIMAL. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO ADOPT A DOG WE REQUIRE A DOG MEETING TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ANIMALS GET ALONG. YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF THAT YOUR CURRENT DOG IS UP TO DATE ON SHOTS PRIOR TO THE MEETING.

2) IF YOU RENT, WE NEED A RENTERS AGREEMENT TO SHOW THAT YOU HAVE YOUR PET DEPOSIT PAID IN FULL. AND YOU MUST SHOW IF YOU HAVE ANY RESTRICTIONS SUCH AS HOW MANY ANIMALS YOU CAN OWN, SIZE LIMITATIONS, OR BREED RESTRICTIONS, IF YOU OWN YOUR HOME PLEASE BRING PROOF I.E. TAX STATEMENT.

3) THERE IS A 24 HOUR WAIT ON ALL ADOPTIONS, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PICK THE PET UP THE FOLLOWING DAY. THERE IS A COUNSELING SESSION WHERE WE GO OVER VALUABLE INFORMATION WITH YOU REGARDING FOOD, TRAINING, AND CARE.
