Friendly reminder that during these super hot days even your porch can get dangerously hot for dog paws.
Some things to try.
Plan your day so pups don't have to go outside the peak of the heat.
Spray down your porch prior to pups going outside.
Put booties on your dog.
Carry your smaller dogs straight to the grass.

When your dogs are learning let them think! Sometimes it takes a little longer for them to fully think through what you were asking no need to repeat yourself just let all those gears touch!

Hello everyone!
Meet Freya, she is a 4yo mainly half malinois half Australian Shepherd mix(embark done). She was pulled from a shelter in VA where she was really struggling with the shelter environment.

Since bringing her in she has developed quite the loving and relaxed personality.

She is neutral to other dogs and will grumble but will walk away and hasn't started any conflicts among my other 4 dogs.

She is cautious of my 9 month old no signs of aggression but I would say her ideal home has older children.

She is a dog that will require a few weeks to settle in but once she does she's OBSESSED with you giant love bug.

She is potty trained and crate trained and will stand for a bath and allow nail trims with lots of positive reinforcement.

She likes to bark when she gets excited (no surprise with the breeds she is)

She is spayed and up to date on shots and HW negative.

Rehoming fee does apply but that will also include some follow up training visits to make sure she settles well with her new home.

Freya is coming up on a week here and we are working on an important skill, play! She struggles with confidence and I've found play helps bridge some gaps. When she got here on Monday she had ZERO interest in toys and low interest in food. Today she engaged in play! Every day she's showing improvement!

Learning to settle and do nothing is such an important thing for dogs to learn. Freya is here to learn how to be an independent confident dog. Today while she adjusts to being here we focus on RELAXING away from people.Today it took almost 2 hrs! She'll be a pro by the end of her stay!
