Please spread the word for this lost dog. Bam Bam was LOST on September 26, 2025 in Rochester, NY 14603 near Linnett Street close to Lexington Ave.

Message from Owner: Our beloved Frenchie tan bulldog ran away after a distressing mishap that occurred near Linnett Street, close to Lexington Avenue. He is more than just a pet—he is a loyal companion and emotional support animal to my 80-year-old mother, who is heartbroken by his absence. We are asking for your help in bringing him . No questions will be asked—our only concern is his safe return. Our family is deeply saddened, but we remain hopeful and have faith that he will be reunited with us soon. Please help us bring him back where he belongs. Thank you God Bless

“We want to think about providing for greater expression as opposed to greater suppression.” - Kim Brophey

When dogs’ needs are met, it is much easier for them to be a “good dog.” They can relax into our human world because they have had the chance to meet their own needs first.

But when those needs are ignored, when they are chronically frustrated or deprived of opportunities to move, explore, play, forage, rest, or connect, obedience becomes an unfair ask. We cannot expect calm, compliant behavior from a dog whose welfare has been compromised.

Expression is not a luxury. It is the foundation. When we honor dogs as the animals they are, training becomes a bridge, not a battle.

When I went into training, no one told me to be prepared. This speaks the truth about the role of trainers. I will NEVER give up on my aggressive clients.

Absolutely!!! Let’s think about what we can do to help our struggling dogs.

Absolutely!!! Let’s think about what we can do to help our struggling dogs.

“No one ever told me that the scars from dog bites would be nothing compared to the scars each dog leaves on our hearts when we think we failed them.”

Michael Shikashio, opened the Aggression in Dogs Conference with a reminder of the hidden weight so many professionals carry. Beyond the techniques and long hours, it is the stories that stay with us. The dogs trembling with fear. The guardians facing impossible choices. The nights we question if we did enough.

This community is where we remind each other that we are not alone in that weight. The work is difficult, but it matters deeply. And together we find the strength to keep showing up.

“Follow the data, not the story. That is how we avoid getting stuck in assumptions and start helping dogs more effectively.” Chirag Patel

At the Aggression in Dogs Conference, Chirag Patel challenged us to look beyond surface level interpretations of behavior. It is easy to create stories. A yawn means stress. A bark means fear. A lunge means aggression. But stories can trap us.
Data frees us. When we study the contingencies, the cues, the environment, and the consequences, we see the patterns that actually matter. We can build training plans that are precise, ethical, and effective.

The invitation is clear: less guessing, more observing. Less assumption, more analysis. Because when we follow the data, we make better choices for dogs and the people who love them.

“Cumulative pressure, when there are multiple sources stacking at once, can actually make things harder for the dog than the trigger itself.” - Bobbie Bhambree

In her presentation at the Aggression in Dogs Conference, Bobbie Bhambree reminded us that it is not always the obvious trigger that overwhelms a dog.

Sometimes it is the accumulation of little pressures, the noise, the movement, the environment, the expectations, all piling on until the dog simply cannot cope.

Recognizing pressure is just as important as recognizing triggers. When we account for the full load a dog is carrying, we can set them up to succeed, not fail.
