Good news!!! 📰 !!! ♥️🐾🙏
While we didn’t take this girl into our rescue because we have a long waitlist.. could have taken 4 months or 4 years, we never know. We rely on adoptions to save more so we have room. We only have a certain amount of kennels, and spots for dogs, and we also care for cats. (We actually desperately need another. We have one on our Amazon wishlist if anyone is able to help.) ♥️
Original owner left her with the roommate when he moved. And after awhile the roommate had to move and couldn’t bring the dog. New place had restrictions on dogs. I put an urgent SOS out. 🆘
After a week or two of posting, someone contacted me, they had the same breed for many years that passed and decided it may be time to adopt again..they were great people.
The thing is, I check people out, and make sure the breed, is a right fit for family. The dogs personality is a right fit for the family.. because rehoming again is hard. I was a foster kid myself and each time it traumatized me. So yes I could have faster adoptions sometimes.. but I’d rather find good people and good fits. So they don’t get returned, rehomed, or dumped.
And today they came to meet her, and she found an amazing fit!! This photo is after adoption!
Reality is, most, and I almost all dogs that end up in the shelters around here end up euthanized after just a few days. The rural shelters do not have the resources. And there is no other rescues, or resources In this vicinity or region. And no spay and neuter clinic to slow down the problem either!!
As I mentioned before the waitlist goes up and down for around 40 dogs currently. And adoptions for us our slow. This dog was not in our care. But I’m still very happy he found a home. 🏡
