❤️ Janet aka Caramel full Story
After trapping her , wonderful neighbors, Christina and Andrew helped me load “ Janet “ in my van , I then took her for the Microchip scan . After Getting the microchip number I went to work immediately. Her name was Caramel , She is 4 years old and came from a Breeder in PA, whom I spoke with. The Owner information was old and not updated except for the address associated with the microchip . The address was coming back to a Woman in the city of Rochester . I had made calls to several places in Rochester, ie the Police, animal control, Rescued treasures, Lollipop farms to see if any of them were aware of any reports of a missing Great Dane, no one was aware of one. Cassandra Bauer of Grand View Canine in Arkport agreed to provide a large kennel space for her while I continued to look for a possible owner. Once I returned home , another trapper, Vicki Pumputis sent me an old video that was posted 44 weeks ago of a missing GD , her name was Caramel - and a different number than what was provided with the microchip information was on the Post . I called that number and spoke with the Original owner, but she said she had gotten Caramel back after 5 days and then rehomed her a few months ago . She was at work and agreed to call the next day with all information pertaining to the adoption. I finally reached out to “ M” the next day after not receiving any calls , and to say the least it was a bizarre conversation that went in circles ⭕️ and eventually no where . I ran the name , 3 phone numbers , different spellings which all was a dead end , no such names in NY or PA as it was still unknown where the “ potential new adopters “ lived . She gave me the meet up address , it was in Lima on May 30th , but that address came back to an ice cream shop , so unhelpful. She wasnt sure if the ad for her rehoming was through Craigs list or FB marketplace, and couldn’t find any of the conversations they had , so no other name or phone numbers other than what she had scribbled in her day planner ; Everything went to a dead end . I finally just asked if she would send me all medical records and any information concerning Caramel to rehome her , Ive still not received anything. Ive spoken with the Stueben county DCO Debbie , and filled her in with my investigation in where Caramel came from , We both agreed to let Caramel stay in the very capable hands of Cassandra Bauer, Grand View Canine to ensure that she gets a great new home 🏡 Caramel has quite alot of old callouses on her hocks and elbows and paws- which usually is indicative of long term confinement in a crate or kennel . Her Paws pads are very raw and sore most likely from running on the pavement for a while. Otherwise she looks pretty good , not to skinny , could use a few more pounds but she was not emaciated .
Thank you 🙏 very much to Cassandra for ensuring Caramels safety and future Home 🏡 , Christina for initiating finding help for the dog running at largein Dansville .She definitely deserves room to run and to know what real love 💕 is !!! She did have a faint odor of Pepe Le Pew , so was given a nice Bath , she has a very large kennel and likes Lots of blankets to lay on ❤️❤️
