When you turn your struggles into your identity, it makes you resent people that didn’t have the same struggles you did. You feel like life has been unfair to you, while life has been easy for them.

Another thing this does is makes you think that leaving your struggle behind, is betraying your identify and I see that happen… all the time.

It makes someone not want to celebrate other peoples success, because they feel like their struggles have earned them the right to the spotlight. That mentality robs you of your potential and opportunities. It also robs you of your enjoyment of other people’s success.

What a great New Year’s resolution to bring into 2026… please consider leaving your struggles behind, and if you are in the midst of a struggle, recognize that that struggle is only temporary, and should not define you. - Willful Positivity
