Watermelon Mountain Ranch was founded in 1996 by Lee and Sophia DiClemente whose love for animals continues to flow through the day-to-day operations at the Ranch. What began as a grassroots effort with a small dedicated group of volunteers has grown in

to New Mexico's Largest No Kill Animal Shelter, encompassing a 10 acre main campus facility, two resale stores, offsite adoption centers and various humane programs serving the community. These programs include our Canine/Feline Foster Care, Humane Education, Volunteers, on- site Vet Clinic, Lee's Retirement Village (for senior dogs), Don's Angel Fund (for injured animals), and our most successful program, Molly's Mercy Missions (saving animals facing euthanasia in shelters across the Southwest and Juarez Mexico). Since the inception of Watermelon Mountain Ranch, we have helped to save the lives of over 200,000 animals, placing them in loving homes and are New Mexico's largest no-kill animal shelter. Don't forget to mark your calendars this Saturday, June 20th for this fantastic adoption event! Thanks to Fiesta Subaru and the Share The Love® program, we will be having an adoption event from 11am-1pm, and then being presented with a donation check from Fiesta Subaru to help continue our cause to save as many cats and dogs as we can! There will also be prizes, food trucks, and music from two local stations: Magic 99.5 & 933.3 The Q! Come find your forever friend and maybe find a new car!

💚We are all over the moon for Oliver! This handsome hunk of fluff is around 60lbs, but working on losing a little weight. He came to us very husky, but with a proper diet and exercise, Oliver will be back to a better size for his breed! He has a soft, floofy coat that will most definitely shed, and will require grooming often! He does great with other dogs, so if you have another dog we recommend bringing them along to meet! Oliver is a lovably large dog who just needs a second chance at his forever home.💚

Oliver is currently on hold for our Fiesta subaru event this saturday, June 20th, along with many other great pups! we hope to see you then!

💚It's not officially summer yet, but it sure feels like it! And our WMR pooches need some new pools to keep them from being some Hot Dogs! We will gladly accept new or like-new kiddie/dog pools, hard or soft shell! We also need new sun shade sails for our outdoor areas. These would greatly help cool off their outdoor play areas and give them more time to relax! Thank you so much and we hope you stay cool!💚

💚Happy Senior Sunday! Give a very BIG hello to our little man Cass!
Cass means a "wealthy man", and this handsome 11 year old-timer is rich in personality and lovability! He is 23lbs at the moment, and a bit on the chonky side. With a healthier diet, and gentle walks, Cass should be back in fighting form in no time! Sweet Cass was adopted from us when he was a baby, but was sadly surrendered to a local shelter after almost a decade of having a home. Thankfully, he came back to us, but he comes with a laundry list of old-man issues. Cass has cataracts, so he is vision impaired. (He can hear a butterfly flap it's wings a mile away, though!) He also has fatty lumps, and we're doing all we can to ensure he feels better. Cass is a sweet senior lovebug, who just wants the final chapter in his life to be in home where they'll give him unconditional love for the rest of his life, like he gives to everyone he meets.
