National Police Week will always hold a special place in our hearts. 💙

For so many years, Chris served our community as a Deputy with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, and Rachel had the privilege of supporting so many BCSO families through serving as President for the Bonneville County Auxiliary Lodge 8. Those experiences shaped our family deeply, in ways that hard to express in words and gave us a lifelong appreciation for the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their families every single day, all across the country.

While the ways we provide support during this week may look a little different now, our hearts for law enforcement have never changed. This is a special week that Idaho Elite K-9 will proudly always support!

National Police Week is a time to recognize the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices of officers across America who choose to serve and protect their communities.

It is also a time of remembrance. Each year on May 15th, Peace Officers Memorial Day gives us the opportunity to pause and honor the brave men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice — and the sacrifice carried by their families, friends, and fellow officers — will never be forgotten.

Today, we had the opportunity to deliver lunch to the agency Chris once proudly served with and see a few familiar faces along the way. Moments like these remind us that no matter where life takes us, the law enforcement community will always feel like family.

To all of the officers, deputies, K-9 teams, and families standing behind the badge — thank you for your service, sacrifice, and commitment to your communities. We see you, we appreciate you, and we honor you this week and always. 💙

How cool is this? We have a phenomenal groomer at Idaho Elite K-9 name Lonnie who does a fantastic job taking care of clients grooming needs.

Last weekend she was able to attend the Mountain West Grooming Series Conference in Boise, ID. She had a fantastic time learning and connecting with other groomers as well.

At Idaho Elite K-9 we place a large emphasis on continued education for all of our team members. We send team members to training every year for, training, grooming, and business growth.

We believe that if we never stop learning we can always be providing the highest level of service for southeast Idaho in all area’s in canine care and training.

We loved getting to hear about Lonnie’s experience there, and getting to watch her grow her knowledge in her area of expertise.

Keep up the great work Lonnie! We appreciate you!

Episode 17 of Elite K-9 Unleashed is live now! Where we are highlighting a different kind of working dog—one whose impact is felt in classrooms instead of on the street.

K-9 Strider was never meant for patrol work. From the beginning, his path was different—carefully selected, trained, and developed to serve as a SRO therapy dog in Thunder Ridge High School alongside his handler, Deputy Downey of the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.

In this episode, we break down what that journey actually looks like and what it truly takes to build a dog capable of working in that environment.

We also visit with Deputy Downey and his wife Emily to learn exactly what it took to get this very needed program launched and how the formation of the non-profit that they founded called K9 Heroes Foundation was a vital part on this process and journey to launch this program.

If you would like to learn more about their mission with the K-9 Heroes Foundation you can learn more at:

This episode challenges the way people think about “working dogs” and shows that service doesn’t always look like what you see in the movies—it can look like quiet confidence, emotional support, and life-changing connection.

If you’ve ever wondered what goes into creating a dog like this—this episode is for you.

If you enjoyed this episode, make sure to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs to hear it.

If you’re ready to take your dog’s training to the next level, we’d love to help.

Most people think K-9s are trained to catch bad guys…
This one was trained to change kids’ lives.

K-9 Strider isn’t your typical working dog—
he’s the first SRO school therapy K-9 in the state of Idaho.

Let that sink in.

While most people think of K-9s as detection or apprehension dogs…
Strider is changing lives in a completely different way—inside classrooms, with students who need it most.

This is what real training, intentional selection, and purpose-driven work can create.

🎙️ This clip is from Elite K-9 Unleashed – Episode 17 dropping tomorrow.

We’re breaking down Strider’s journey with Deputy Downey and what it actually takes to build a dog capable of this level of impact.

👉 We’ll be posting the full episode link tomorrow—don’t miss it.

Real K-9s are trained for precision—not chaos.

That's why K-9's don't bite just anyone.

They’re taught to:
✔️ Ignore distractions
✔️ Stay neutral in public
✔️ Engage ONLY on command or clear threat

The bite isn’t the skill—
control is.

Because a dog that bites everything is dangerous.
A dog that can turn it on AND off?

That’s a professional.
