A group of members met on Wednesday evening (08/26) to talk about concerns with how the organization is operating. At their meeting, they took votes to remove the current Board and elect new Board members. We recognize their passion.
The actions at that meeting, hosted by Friends of Ocooch Felines, however, aren’t actionable, they are advisory.
As was discussed at the August 5 member meeting hosted by the OMHS Board of Directors, a call for directors will be issued later this year. The people who expressed interest then are welcome to submit their information when that official call is made.
In the meantime, progress continues at the shelter! A detailed communication will be sent to members soon. It will include an update on the cats, highlights from feedback gathered from members throughout the month of August, and an update on policy work underway.
Thanks to everyone for their support of the animals and the work that continues the spirit of the organization’s founders.
