Our best buddy Oreo is unbelievably rare. Diabetes in a dog his age happens to less than 1% of dogs 😭 he finally seems to be starting to regulate some. Finally. But he’s still nowhere near where he needs to be. He still has many tests, many changes, many medications and so much more to go.

He needs a new foster home. And we need donations to continue his treatment. The specialist was very expensive and we still haven’t been able to pay that off 💔

Please consider fostering him, sharing him with someone you know and donating ❤️‍🩹 his link to donate is here: zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/save-oreos-life

Message us if you may be able to foster. And continue sending prayers, love, good juju and everything and anything else you believe in!!!

BIG NEWS on this two dollar Tuesday!!!

We are launching acres of impact: fix ‘em forward.

Starting now, for every dog we intake into Country Acres Rescue, we’re setting a goal to raise $200 for a completely separate community pet to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Why? Because rescue can’t only be about responding to the problem after a dog ends up in a shelter. We want to help address it at the source.

Spay and neuter prevents unwanted litters. Vaccines help keep community pets healthy. Microchips help lost pets find their way home instead of entering an already overcrowded shelter system.

So every time we say YES to a dog who needs us, we want that yes to reach a little further.

1 rescue intake = $200 goal = 1 community pet fixed forward.

One dog saved. Another pet supported. An impact that keeps growing.

Welcome to Acres of Impact. ❤️

Good morning and happy Monday from adoptable George 💞 this handsome man is estimated to be 4 years old. A certified “velcro dog” who wants nothing more than to be close to his person. He’s crate and potty trained. He likes other dogs with slow and proper intros and without them all up in his face lol he’s looking for a loving and patient home willing to let him blossom and show his deep love for his human. Message us to meet him!

Little paws, big hearts 🎶

We had a busy weekend full of fun events!!!

Friday, we went to Yappy Hour at Vaulted Oak brewing. It was such a great time and awesome crowd of Pittie lovers 🥰

Saturday was the first annual Community Unity Festival put on By Strange & Selfless— a Charlotte area nonprofit dedicated to providing essentials, emergency aid, and peer support for those in need when traditional systems fall short! It was set up great and we met so many great people!

Sunday, we were invited to attend a neighborhood block party. They spoiled our pups with so much love and pets. We met more wonderful people and enjoyed every bit of the day!

We are so grateful for all of the opportunities to meet the community and get our adoptables out there!

Thank you to all of our phenomenal volunteers, fosters and everyone in between that helps make these events happen! 🙏🏻

Hope everyone’s weekend was just as full with fun. 🤩

We’ve been trying to post in there more regularly. We appreciate any and all help!!! We have events almost every weekend, some week nights and sometimes twice a day on the weekends. We need extra help with setup, breaks from dogs aka dog handlers, breakdown, transporting dogs to and from the events, etc.

Again, please consider joining us for our events in and around charlotte. If you’re closer to the rescue, we’re desperate for hands on help there as well. Cleaning kennels, helping with pups, and more. We are just exhausted and desperate 🫩☹️

Oreo thin update! Five dollar Friday for him!!!

Sadly, not the greatest update but definitely not the worst. The specialist ran a bunch of tests yesterday. The number one focus right now is managing his diabetes. Juvenile diabetes can be insulin resistant and is hard to get to a reasonable point.

He has several other concerns but all *might* and hopefully are related to the diabetes. So number one is to get this under control.

His insulin level was increased on Wednesday and will be increased again next week. Some of the tests that were ran will take approximately two weeks to get back so we are still waiting. In the meantime, his glucose levels will be heavily monitored and hopefully can be adjusted to the proper amounts 😩

Also really hoping everything else he has going on gets better with the diabetes being managed. We did ask about IMHA as many have mentioned it and he does not have that. His scary white gums are attributed to his dehydration 💔 he hates water 😭 but we’re working on it!!! He is too sick to test for cushings at this time.

Financially, we paid over $2,900 yesterday. Both of his hospitalizations have been able to be fundraised for and we are counting on you all to cover the specialist as well. Otherwise we have to go on a strict intake pause again 💔 we’ve updated his zeffy to reflect this.

Over the next 2-3 weeks he will need a substantial number of visits and tests done to continue monitoring his other issues— primarily his liver and pancreas not being normal. Right now the zeffy has been updated only to reflect the additional visit and tests from yesterday. We will update it as each visit comes and goes.

Zeffy is the best way to donate for Oreo as it’s easily trackable for us and also they take no fee or percentage.

We are emotionally exhausted for our best bud, Oreo and can only imagine how he feels 💔 please whatever powers you believe in, ask for relief and management for our guy. He deserves a better quality of life and is such a sweet boy.

Again, we are so grateful for all that are cheering him on, donating and his amazing foster family.
