I KNOW that the first 6 weeks with your puppy are critical for them getting to stay in your home.🏠

🟥If you don’t like the person training your dog. Don’t let them train your dog!🟥

I Just heard another awful story of some “dog trainer” who traumatized a dog, and made the owner very uncomfortable.

If ANYONE, EVER does ANYTHING to/with/around your dog that makes you uncomfortable, I need you to SPEAK UP!

Your dog can’t talk, YOU HAVE TO.

Yes, a “professional dog trainer” is supposed to know more than you do about training dogs and you are supposed to trust that they know what they are doing.

BUT SOME PEOPLE SUCK

And you will know it when you see it.

I want you to do a solid vibe check before you work with any so-called professional.

You should have a solid conversation not just about what they can do for you, but also about how they operate, what credentials they have, their methodology and also regular chit chat to get a feel for who they are as a person.

Do they have good morals?

Do they have the right personality that you will be able to learn from?

IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEM DON’T HIRE THEM!!

And I personally would insist on watching anyone work with my dog before I left them alone with them.

(board and train programs personally skeeve me out)

So this is just a little PSA telling you to trust your gut and stand up for your dog.

If it looks like abuse, I bet it is.

If someone is being heavy handed with your dog and you don’t like it,

MAKE THEM STOP.
