Adventure walk with Sam and Hazel. Finally we got a day cool enough to explore. We had a stop off to say hi to the ducks, chickens, and turkeys, and swung by to see Parfait as well.

The alpaca got their annual haircut. You can tell how happy they are to feel the breeze on their skin. They love scratching all those itches that they haven’t been able to get to. Plus a nice fun cool down with the hose.

“Oh, he looks so hot, you need to give him some cold water!”

NO!!! Don’t do it!

If a dog has just come in from being out in the heat, do not give them ice cold water right away. Let them cool off until they are no longer heavily panting, and then give them cool, not cold, water. If they’re very hot, you can dip their paws and cool water. With large breeds and dogs with a deep chest, avoid giving them food and water for at least half an hour before and after they go out and play in the heat. They are a higher risk of bloat. Huckleberry came up with his own method of cooling down where he just lays his tongue directly on the cool floor.

Welcome Murphy! This sweet Mini Bernedoodle is here for 10 days of training and fun. Our main goals are manners on walks, strong recall, and respecting doors / gates. He is off to a great start and we can’t wait to see all the progress by day 10.

A training client of mine is facing medical challenges and, after much thought and heartbreak, has made the incredibly difficult decision to find a new home for her beloved dog, Maxi.

Maxi is a super sweet, funny, happy girl. She has completed training and has so many great qualities. She can be a little nervous around new people—especially men—and may need a little time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she is a loyal, loving companion.

Because finding the right match is so important, I would like to help with her transition. I am offering a free training session for her future family, along with continued support and guidance to help ensure a successful adjustment.

If you or someone you know may be able to provide Maxi with the loving, stable home she deserves, please send me a message. I adore this dog and we are committed to finding the best possible fit for this special girl.

Come see us at the Tractor Supply in Ruckersville. We hope lots of pups find new homes today. We have homemade treats for the dogs and information on training and boarding.
