On behalf of all the critters and volunteers we would like to wish a very Happy Father’s Day to all those Pawsome dads out there, be they the 2- legged kind or the 4-legged kind. We will however, we will be available for appointments (cats or dogs).

RPACI will be back in June 27 th for an adoption event at PetSmart-Trussville from 11:30-3:30. Stay tuned for a HUGE announcement on the 24th. You won’t believe it!!!

Dogs and cats are spayed/neutered and up to date on shots. All cats are FIV/Luk negative and all dogs are micro-chipped. You will receive some goodies to go along with your adoption. There is nothing better than a wagging tail, a gleeful meow, or a jingling collar to greet you at the end of a long day. • International Hug Your Cat Day - May 30

It’s here!!! Summer and with it vacations, plenty of fun in the sun, school is out. What better way to celebrate than with a new pup or kitty. A little furrie to keep the kids busy, teach them responsibility and make for a fun filled summer. Go on walks, hikes or picnics. Time for the kids to put down the devices and get out in the fresh air and expend all that energy. “Mom, I am so bored, there is nothing to do!” We have the perfect solution for them...love, energy and joy all tied up in a 4=legged new family member.

However, we will be delighted to schedule a meet and greet for any of our pups or kitties.

We end the month of May with Memorial Day as we honor the veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect and preserve our liberties and freedom. This weekend is a time to honor our fallen military and to pay tribute to family members that have given such a precious gift so that our nation can remain free. In addition to those military fallen, please remember the fallen first responders who have also paid the ultimate price for us. To say Thank You is not nearly enough to those who have paid the ultimate price for our nation. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” John 15:13.

It is Memorial Day weekend. The “unofficial” beginning of summer. Picnics, more time outdoors having fun and doing endless yardwork. The kids are out of school How about adding a new family member…the fur bearing 4-legged kind? Give the family a project for summer – training your new family member, playing and teaching responsibility. And, PLEASE take a few moments this weekend to remember the meaning of this holiday….. to honor those that have paid the ultimate price so that we can enjoy all the privileges that our nation affords us. I know you didn’t expect to see chickens on our announcement, but May 14th is National Chicken Dance Day!!What more fun than to do the chicken dance. Everyone, get your tail feathers and wings ready and strut like a chicken. The Original Title: Composed in Switzerland in the 1950s by accordionist Werner Thomas, the song was originally titled "Der Ententanz" (The Duck Dance). It arrived in the US in the 1970s, becoming a staple at weddings, Oktoberfest, and school parties. The day is recognized as a way to reduce stress, boost energy, and bring a smile to your face. Time to Dance!!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! from all of us at RPACI, the volunteers and of course our puppies and kitties. You are still a fabulous mother even if all your “children” are not the 2 legged ones.
