Hi everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to explain a new policy at JVN.
As of today we will no longer be scheduling appointments for second opinions. I want you to all know this is not a decision we came to lightly. I myself am a worried pet mama, and understand the desire to check and double check that your baby is getting the best care. And in normal times, I am happy to take a look and give a second opinion.
However, we are not in normal times. We are experiencing an unprecedented need for veterinary services right now. Patients that we used to be able to see same day are waiting months for an appointment. This means that we don't actually get to some patients in time, and can't help them. This breaks our hearts. If your pet has already received care from one of the other excellent boarded neurologists in the area, it is unfair to make another pet wait.
I want to assure you that all of the neurologists in the Bay Area work together. We frequently discuss cases, and I am consistently impressed by the intelligence and professionalism of my colleagues. You are in excellent hands if you have seen them, and I would trust them with my own babies.
