Hi! I realized there are a lot of new faces here, so I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself 💜
I’m Christine McCoy, the heart behind H.A.N.S. (Happy Animals & Neighborhood Strolls).
And honestly? I think in my mid 50s, I finally found my calling.
I’ve always known I was meant to help and care for others, but somewhere along the way, that love grew into caring for animals too… and now I truly can’t imagine doing anything else.
The truth is, H.A.N.S. was born from love and heartbreak.
In March of ‘25, we lost our beautiful cat, ChiChi, and that following August, we lost our soul dog, Hans. Losing them changed me in ways I never expected. But somewhere in the grief, I truly believe Hans left me one final gift, a way to carry on his name, his love, and his legacy.
And that’s how H.A.N.S. (Happy Animals & Neighborhood Strolls) was born. Rooted in memory. Driven by love. 🐾
I live in Shillington with my husband, Ryan. We’ve been together for 8 years and married for nearly five years and somehow managed three moves in that time (apparently we like to keep life interesting 😂).
Fun little fact: yes, we got married on September 11th — the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Was that my first choice? Not exactly 😅 But it was Ryan’s mom’s birthday, and after losing her, he wanted a meaningful way to honor her. Who was I to say no? 💜
Ryan has also become my partner in this crazy little dream of mine. Most of the time, it’s just me caring for your pets, but occasionally you’ll see both of us, especially when extra hands are needed. And when we’re not walking dogs, there’s a good chance we’re laughing somewhere near a pool 😂
I’m also the proud mom of two incredible adult sons, Connor (29), who works in film and television in Brooklyn, and Kyle (26), a golf pro in Connecticut. Those boys are truly some of my very best work ❤️
Before pet care, I spent years in the health and wellness world, worked for an eye doctor, and before that spent 12 years in the restaurant industry. And I’m not gonna lie… there are still days I think about picking up one serving shift a week because apparently that hustle never leaves you 😂
A few random things about me:
🐾 Senior pets have a very special place in my heart — there’s just something so beautiful about the trust and love they give
💜 Purple is my favorite color
📸 You’ll probably get way too many pet photos from me (sorry, not sorry 😆)
🐾 And yes… I probably talk to your pets like tiny humans 😂
🚶🏼♀️ I genuinely love getting to know every pet’s quirky personalities
☕ I’m always up for a good coffee and a meaningful conversation
🐶 I will absolutely stop to say hi to dogs when I’m out and about
🎧 I’m a total self-help/inspirational book nerd and am almost always listening to an Audible book in the car between pet visits 😂
❤️ I truly believe pets deserve care that feels personal, not transactional. When you hire H.A.N.S., you always get me (and occasionally Ryan too 😉).
One thing I want people to know is that this business is deeply personal to me. H.A.N.S. isn’t just a job, it’s something I’ve poured my whole heart into. Building trust with both pets and their people means everything to me, and I truly believe the best care comes from connection, patience, and love.
If you trust me with your babies, please know I never take that lightly. Your pets are family, and I care for them the way I’d want someone caring for mine.
Whether you’re a client, supporter, fellow animal lover, or just found this page, I’m so glad you’re here.
Thank you for being part of this little dream that grew from love, loss, and a whole lot of heart. 💜🐾
xo, Christine
