Welcome back, sweet Te Ka 💔🐾

Last spring, Te Ka came to us as a brave momma kitty, found with her four kittens after a devastating house fire. She cared for her babies, healed, and eventually found what we hoped would be her forever home in October.

Sometimes, though, love isn’t enough to make the fit right.

Te Ka’s adopters truly adored her and tried many different ways to help her settle in with their resident cats. Unfortunately, Te Ka made it clear that she wanted to be the only cat. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the physical and emotional toll on the other cats wasn’t fair to them. Making the decision to return her was heartbreaking—but it was made out of love and responsibility for all the animals involved.

We want to say this clearly and kindly: this is exactly why we always take our cats back. There is no shame in recognizing when a situation isn’t working, and choosing compassion over continuing stress and harm.

Te Ka is a very affectionate girl and is adjusting to being back in rescue. With a little time, she’ll be ready to try again—this time in a home where she can be the one and only, just as she wants and deserves.

They’re currently awaiting their spays and neuters, but once that’s complete, they’ll be ready for their final mission: finding their forever homes 🏡✨

The Apostol family came in yesterday and completely fell in love with sweet Cider 🍎🐱 They finalized her adoption… but their hearts couldn’t stop thinking about her little friend Spice 🌶️💭

They knew in their hearts that Cider and Spice would both love having a kitten friendship to grow up with — so today, they came back for Spice!! 🥹✨

Now it’s a Happy Furever After for Spice, and a reunited future for these two besties 💕 We’re crossing our fingers (and paws!) that Cider and Spice’s reunion is as sweet as we imagine 🐾💞

🐾 Tiny Faces, Big Hearts to Heal 🐾

Please help us welcome our sweet kittens from Liberty Animal Shelter 💕 These little ones have been with our rescue for about 3 weeks now and are continuing their journey with us as they heal and grow.

Meet Woody, Trixie, Bonnie, Jessie, and Molly 🐱✨
They may not all be siblings, but they are united by a shared story. All five were originally trapped and fostered by an amazing local TNR group, and we kept their names tied together as a special nod to that journey.

🍼 Ages: approx. 7-10 weeks
🤧 Current status: Being treated for upper respiratory infections
💗 What they need: Time, patience, love, and lots of TLC

These babies are still on the mend and not quite ready for adoption, but we’ll be sharing updates as they grow stronger, healthier, and more playful by the day 😻

Cider was adopted from our Antioch Crossing PetSmart location, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that this s***ky, snuggly kitten is getting the love she deserves. 💖🍎

A HUGE thank you to her wonderful adopters for choosing a rescue, and for giving Cider the chance to blossom into the purrfect little companion she’s always meant to be. 🏡

From her sweet purrs to her playful personality, this little ball of joy is sure to bring so much happiness and fun to her new family. We can’t wait to see her grow and thrive in her new home!

💙 An Update From Our Rescue Family 💙

We’re finally able to share some hopeful news — we have started working our way through our waitlist again. While we’re not able to add new names to the list just yet, we are beginning to schedule intakes.

If you’re currently on our waitlist and haven’t heard from us, please be patient with us — it likely just means we haven’t reached your spot yet. That said, you’re always welcome to check in to be sure no messages were missed. We truly appreciate your understanding as we carefully balance the needs of so many cats.

🐾 Our Most Recent Intake 🐾
Our newest girl didn’t come from the waitlist, but from an urgent request by local law enforcement. Her world has changed forever — her owners will not be returning home, and she now needs a new family to love her.

She is a very sweet, big-hearted girl, though we don’t yet know much about her history. She’ll be heading to the vet soon for a full health check and to get up to date on everything she needs. Most importantly, she’ll be given something that can’t be rushed: time. Time to grieve the loss of her home, her people, and the life she knew.

We’re giving her all the patience and gentleness she deserves — and already, she’s starting to come around. 💕
