The ball pit was introduced yesterday. Some of the pups haven’t attempted it, some are curious about it, then you’ve got Nova and Dipper who are CRAZY about it!

Photo dump! This week puppies are trying so many new things. Going outside on leashes, playing and pottying in the grass, the ball pit, crawling under and going over the raised dog bed, climbing on the step stool, going on short car rides, playing with wheeled things like the long board, and playing more with Auntie Juju (who is now the same size as them). 🐾

Week 5! These babes are wiggly and proving to be difficult to sit still for a photo. 😂.

We are in puppy curriculum mode now. Puppy curriculum this week has included a cat tunnel (in, over, through), a ball bigger than themselves, smaller rolling balls, toys that squeak and crinkle, outdoor play, and play with kids.

We have a resident Snuggle Puppy. We’ve never used it with a litter but now I’m thinking about getting more. You can see it gets a lot of love. Right now I don’t have the heartbeat on, but just keep it in the back of the crate. The pups love sleeping on it or even just by it.

When I don’t have my breeder hat on, I usually have my parent, chauffeur, teacher, etc hat on. But I also have a piano teacher hat and it has been fun to not only introduce my students to the puppies but also introduce the puppies to piano lessons. I will sometimes bring in one at a time for a portion of a lesson just so they can get used to the sounds and vibrations of the acoustic piano. My students love it too. 😄

4 weeks old! So much can change in a week. These babes are getting cuter by the day. We have fallen completely in love with them all. They are the cuddliest, kissiest bunch we’ve ever had I believe. My favorite is when I go in to say good morning and they all come over to each get their good morning cuddle. 🥰

First real food for these babes yesterday. They really enjoyed their puppy mush. We use feeding time to introduce puppy recall. This comes in handy when pups go home.

Puppy Selfies! I wanted to see if the puppies would pay attention to their reflection so I set up my phone against the wall of the whelping box with the front facing camera on. What happened? Some of them took their own pictures with their noses. 😂. Others just stared at themselves. It’s always fun to see which dogs take interest in a screen and which ones don’t seem to notice. Flores was very interested and kept running into the phone. (I’m assuming she wanted to play with the puppy on the screen). Others who were very interested in their reflection were Nova, Twilight, Cusco, and Pisco.

Happy 1st birthday to all our Flora & Fauna puppies!! 🐶 🎉 🐾 They sure have grown over the past year!! All the pups are bigger than their mom, most weighing in at 40-45 lbs. (Belle is 30 and their dad is 35). The pups who had parti markings still have them, but our lighter pups have gotten so dark. Fur color will continue to change as they age though. We are planning on Belle having another litter this coming fall. (We are of course at the mercy of whenever she goes into heat). We’ll keep you all posted. If you would like to be added to our list of interested puppy parents please let me know and I’ll send you an interest form. Happy birthday puppies! We miss your tail wags and kisses.
