🚨🆘 RESCUE NEEDED FOR SUGARCANE! 🆘🚨
🍬🐱 Meet Sugarcane! This tiny girl is estimated to be 13 weeks old and weighs just 3.9 pounds. Sugarcane was brought to our shelter as a stray by a concerned citizen and was never reclaimed. Upon intake, we noticed that she was having difficulty using her back legs. Although she tried very hard to use them, she was unable to fully stand. We sent her to our local veterinarian for an examination to find out what might be going on.
Here is what we know from her veterinary examination:
• Radiographs were taken of her hips and hind limbs. No fractures were identified, and her growth plates appeared normal.
• A large amount of stool was noted in her colon.
• A possible neurological cause for her difficulty using her back legs was discussed.
• She was given deworming treatment for tapeworms.
• She received Revolution and a stool softener to help with defecation and prevent constipation.
• Gastrointestinal motility disorder or secondary to neurologic disfunction for constipation.
❤️ But here's what makes Sugarcane so special!
Despite her challenges with her back legs, this little girl has an absolutely wonderful personality! She is sweet, friendly, and outgoing. She loves to play and will happily run around the room. She doesn't let her mobility challenges stop her from enjoying life and showing everyone just how much personality she has! Please help Sugarcane find rescue! Our shelter is full!

🚨🆘 RESCUE NEEDED FOR DOBBY! 🆘🚨
🐾💙 Meet Dobby! A handsome canine in need of rescue!💙🐾
Dobby was brought to our shelter by one of our Animal Control Officers after a concerned citizen found him and was unable to locate his owner. Sadly, no one came forward to reclaim him.
Upon intake, we noticed that Dobby had severe skin scabbing, flaking, and hair loss, including hair loss around his ears. He was sent to our local veterinarian for further assessment, and we will share an update as soon as we receive more information. A little about Dobby: Dobby can be shy when meeting new friends and needs a little time to warm up. Once he begins to feel comfortable, his curious personality starts to shine! He enjoys exploring his surroundings and looking out the windows to see what's happening in the world around him.
Dog test: Dobby was a little shy at first and sniffed our canine friend. The other dog eventually lost interest and went about his business.
Cat test: Dobby sniffed our friendly feline but was more interested in exploring the room and looking for treats!
Please help Dobby our shelter is full!

UPDATE 10/28/26- Rescued by Ruff Love

🚨🆘 RESCUE NEEDED FOR WYATT! 🆘🚨
🐾💙 Meet Wyatt — a BIG boy with a BIG personality and lots of love to give! 💙🐾
Wyatt is estimated to be a 1-year-old, Labrador Retriever that weighs a whopping 87.4 pounds! This extra-large guy was brought to our shelter as a stray by a concerned citizen, and sadly, no one has come forward to reclaim him. During intake, no issues were noted. He is unaltered and is heartworm negative.
Let's just say Wyatt hasn't quite mastered the art of being quiet when making new friends! He's a very enthusiastic boy who gets super excited when meeting new people and other animals. He's just so eager to say hello!
Dog test: Wyatt did well! He was very excited and wanted to play with the other dog. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he will benefit from someone who can help him learn appropriate greetings and manners.
Cat test: He was also very excited when meeting our friendly feline and wanted to play! His excitement was noted, so continued management and careful introductions would be important in any home with cats.
This handsome Labrador is still young and has so much potential! He's a big, fun-loving guy who will need someone willing to work with him, help him manage his excitement, and teach him how to channel all that enthusiasm into positive behaviors.
At 87.4 pounds, he's not a little guy you can easily reel in when he gets excited! He needs someone who can give him the structure, training, and guidance he needs to become the best version of himself. Please help Wyatt find rescue!

🚨🆘 RESCUE NEEDED FOR MAPLE! 🆘🚨
🍁 Meet Maple — a gentle, shy girl who needs someone to give her a chance! 🍁
Maple is estimated to be 3.5 years old, weighs 89 pounds, and appears to be a Mastiff mix. She was brought to our shelter by one of our Animal Control Officers after a concerned citizen reported that she had been running loose in the neighborhood for about a week. Thankfully, the citizen was able to safely contain her and contact Animal Control for help.
Upon Intake the following was noted: She was very nervous and uncertain during intake. She does have a small wart-like mass behind her right ear. She also does appear to have had puppies before.
Since Maple has been at the shelter, she has been struggling with the unfamiliar shelter environment. She is very nervous and shy when meeting new people, and it's clear that she is unsure of her surroundings. When she feels overwhelmed, she tends to shut down and become fearful. But there's another side to Maple. When she's in her kennel, where she seems to feel safer, she becomes more active and receptive to people. With a little patience and time to feel comfortable, she begins to come out of her shell.
Dog test: Maple was initially a little shy but began sniffing the other dog after a few moments.
Cat test: She did very well! A friendly, outgoing cat approached her, and Maple showed no negative reaction. She even gave the cat a little sniff!
Please help Maple find rescue!

🐾💕 MEET RIVER! 💕🐾
River was brought to the shelter by one of our attendants as a stray. She was found in our local mall parking lot. She was never reclaimed. She is microchipped and the information on the chip stated that she is 9 years , 8 months old. She is 49.2 lbs and is a Lab mix. Sadly, she was never reclaimed.
Upon intake, the following was noted: She appears to be older and has some broken/ worn teeth. She is also HEARTWORM POSITIVE. Per her microchip information she is spayed and her DOB is 09/08/2017. River also does have what appears to be a skin tag on her a**s. She is very outgoing and playful and loves to play fetch! River is also a very smart girl and knows her basic commands she will gladly show you for a treat. She loves to go outside for walks and does pull on the leash when she first goes outside but will settle down after a few minutes. She is a very sweet older lady that has a lot of love to give!
Dog Test: River was very excited to make a new friend! She was ready to play and explore her surroundings with her new canine friend.
Cat Test: She was very interested in our feline friend but did not show any negative behaviors towards our feline friend. Our feline friend did hiss and she was okay with admiring him from a distance.
Please help River find rescue! Our shelter is full!

UPDATE- 10/27/26- RESCUED BY RANDOLPH COUNTY SPCA

🐾💕 MEET LADY LEGASUS! 💕🐾Meet Lady Legasus, she was brought to the shelter as a stray by one of our officers. She was found seeking shelter on a citizen’s back porch, and the citizen had never seen her before in their neighborhood. No one came to reclaim her. Lady Legasus is estimated to be a 3 Yr old, 80lb., Great Dane Mix.
Upon intake the following was noted: She has one dewclaw on her back right food and the one on her rear left foot is missing. She also had a thin body condition and a flea infestation. A slight tart buildup was also noticed on her teeth.
She is a very smart girl that has quickly learned how to sit in return for some tasty treats. Lady Legasus also knows how to walk on a leash and is very excited to get out and explore. She is very in tune with her surroundings; if she hears a noise she will try to figure out where it is coming from. She has been housed near another dog that has shown upper respiratory symptoms so as a precaution she has been started on Doxycycline. She is not symptomatic at this time.
Dog Test: Lady Legasus is happy to make new friends! She will happily sniff the other dog with no negative interactions.
Cat Test: She was very intrigued by our feline friend and was happy to observe him. She did not show any negativity towards him.
