Stratton is a real life McGruff the Crime Dog! This boy has made a huge impact in his area finding those that are lost and helping solve crimes!

Breed - Bloodhound

Discipline - Mantrailing in both Search and Rescue and Criminal Investigation operations

Team - Summit Search and Rescue and Cumberland County District Attorneys Office

Pennsylvania State Police have reported that missing woman Abigail Kennedy has been found five hours after she was reported missing.

🧡🐾🧡Sunday Practice🧡🐾🧡

Mother nature cooperated with us today and we avoided most of the rain!

Today we worked specifically on layered scent and high finds. The subject in this video had been all over every inch of this property on Friday afternoon. Then, this morning he layed a fresh trail and climbed 12 feet into a Hemlock tree.

K9 Jane had to make multiple turns to follow the fresh scent rather than follow the old scent in the opposite direction. At the end she had to realize that the scent trail stopped and look up to find her subject waiting above her.

She got a little tangled in some saplings right at the end, and her handler could see the subject so she dropped the lead to let her get to the tree and make her find. She wasted no time identifying her subject and going back to tell her handler what she found!

It is very important to add all kinds of variables in to these trails to recreate situations we may run into on a live search. Layered scent is a very common thing that we run across all the time at live searches. Many times someone walks the same area daily or has been hunting in an area for a few weeks and the K9s must be able to find the freshest trail to follow.

🔥🔥Its K9 Training day!🔥🔥

The temperature is starting to climb and we are keeping these K9s nice and cool!!

At 11:00 PM on 05/14/26 we responded to the Corsica, PA area to assist Pine Creek K-9 Search Unit, Corsica Volunteer Fire Company,
and the PA State Police with a missing 46 year old woman.

At 12:25 AM on 5/15/26 she was located by one of our members as she attempted to return to her families camp.

We are happy to report that after an evaluation by PSP and EMS she was returned to her family in good health.
