⭐️K9 Olive⭐️

K9 Olive was rescued by a couple of Bloodhound handlers who decided to start training her to see how she would do. Ever since then, Olive has been kicking butt and showing up all the hounds! She is a high drive working fool who loves to do her job, is super friendly, and absolutely loves people!

Breed - German Short Haired Pointer

Discipline - Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection

Team - NCPA Dive Recovery & K9 Search Team, McKean County District Attorneys Office, and Mountaineer Search and Rescue K9 Division.

We received a call this morning around 9:00am from Blair County EMA to assist Freedom Township Police department with a search for a missing person that had been last seen 6 days ago.

Just before noon, K9 Jane and her handler Bonnie successfully found the subject deceased.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time, and we are glad to have been successful in bringing them closure.

Congratulations to K9 Jane and Bonnie on a successful find!

Abby has been helping us for many years as a "missing person", a flanker, and now a K9 Handler! One picture just wasn't quite enough to show this girls hard work, dedication, and fun personality!

🧡🐾🧡 K9 Practice!!🧡🐾🧡

We practiced behind Cold Stream Dam in Phillipsburg today and it couldn't have gone any better!

It was a very busy place today with lots of distractions from fisherman, runners, other dogs, bikers, etc.

All of those distractions made for a very busy and fast paced practice. We usually do pretty good about getting good pictures at practice, but today we ended up with a bunch of pictures of K9 and handlers butts as the ones taking pictures tried their best to keep up.

Rather than make you look at everyone's butts we decided to post this cute video of one of our junior handlers waiting to leave for practice!

****no children were harmed in the filming of this video. This little boys lives to practice with all his K9s!****

Stratton is a real life McGruff the Crime Dog! This boy has made a huge impact in his area finding those that are lost and helping solve crimes!

Pennsylvania State Police have reported that missing woman Abigail Kennedy has been found five hours after she was reported missing.

🧡🐾🧡Sunday Practice🧡🐾🧡

Mother nature cooperated with us today and we avoided most of the rain!

Today we worked specifically on layered scent and high finds. The subject in this video had been all over every inch of this property on Friday afternoon. Then, this morning he layed a fresh trail and climbed 12 feet into a Hemlock tree.

K9 Jane had to make multiple turns to follow the fresh scent rather than follow the old scent in the opposite direction. At the end she had to realize that the scent trail stopped and look up to find her subject waiting above her.

She got a little tangled in some saplings right at the end, and her handler could see the subject so she dropped the lead to let her get to the tree and make her find. She wasted no time identifying her subject and going back to tell her handler what she found!

It is very important to add all kinds of variables in to these trails to recreate situations we may run into on a live search. Layered scent is a very common thing that we run across all the time at live searches. Many times someone walks the same area daily or has been hunting in an area for a few weeks and the K9s must be able to find the freshest trail to follow.
