The sweet boys have moved to their new field. The 4 boys have a HUGE field. I think it’s 65 acres?! They are delighted as am I. Theos leg is looking great! We are heading in the right direction.

Everyone has settled perfectly and we are developing a routine. Even with all that space the boys are still waiting for me at the gate to come in for pm feeding. Good boys. 🙌🏼🐴

Things with the “old gal” farm didn’t pan out. After inspection, we found she needed a ton (I mean a TON) of work inside and out. Boo. Onward and upward and onto the next. Our right home/farm is out there. 👌🏼🫶🏼🏡

This is where my best ideas are found, made, and put into action. Those with horses will understand. For me, it’s the quiet mornings; before the sun is up and the day has truly started.

Things are moving ahead with the new farm. Inspection is tomorrow. It’s merely an FYI; this is what and where emphasis needs to be done more rápidamente. I am really excited to see the farm again and start our action plan. We were told we can start cleaning up the run in’s, paddock area, and field(s) before closing. 💪🏼 So it begins. 🙌🏼

I have a waiting list started for those who need a mount and a client starting at her place next weekend. Things are coming together. Baby steps will always follow a well thought idea.

The slightest changes bring big responses sometimes with sensitive horses. We all love a sensitive, in-tune/attentive horse. But when it comes to everything being a sensitivity it’s trying at times. I cried tonight. 🤪🙃

Sensitive horses require white gloves more often than not. Sensitive horses require patience and time. They take longer for nearly everything.

Theo is a hypersensitive horse. Tonight we had a little misstep going into our stall and he sadly got into a precarious position- his own fault for rushing- no injury just scared him. It was enough for him to continue down a mental rabbit hole. He managed to get Aero uplifted into a neighboring solar system as well. I thought Aero may colic he was so upset.

Aero (also a sensitive horse) happened to notice some cows had been moved today- opposite side of the farm; NOWHERE near the horses or their barn. That and Theo was all he needed. Seriously??! 🤪

Walking Theo around- busy feet for busy minds really didn’t help. Moving Aero to a different stall next to Patron did help. Phew. As soon as Aero calmed Theo started to come back to reality as well. Horses are difficult at times and it’s not always sprinkles, rainbows, and riding into the sunset. Remember that before you make a purchase.

Photo of a sensitive/sometimes naughty boy staying relatively quiet for our nightly wrap and cut clean. Putting this bale infront of him was the only thing I could do to keep him occupied and quiet tonight. Plus- his leg is looking better by the day. He really got himself a doozy of a boo boo this go round. 😅🫶🏼🐴

There was a bit of spice in the air this morning. Buttons and Patrón were feeling spicy! We got some much needed rain yesterday and this morning was an agreeable low 50’s.

Those temps called for a romp with some Lipizzaner moves thrown in. Patrón is a new horse now that he is back north. Cows aside, all of the horses mental health has greatly improved leading to better physical health. 👌🏼

I’m starting to teach again very soon. Satellite of course as we wait to close on the new digs. Once we close and get our feet planted; my new lesson/training program will resume in full force (weather permitting).

These nice days are days to be riding or teaching outside. Early Fall/late Summer is that last breath of life before resorting to indoors and layers for the winter.

This is Mr. Whiskers Meow Meow, as I call him. He’s one of the sweetest barn kitties. His brother, John Deere is equally as kind. Who doesn’t love an orange tabby?! 🥹🐈

The sun rising this morning was a beauty. Mornings start early with my son in school and self care boarding (so thankful).

6am I’m arriving at the barn. Sleepy eyed horses in the morning are the best. It’s quiet in the mornings. The “watutzis” (heifers) usually are not even awake yet. Everyone is always happy to see me, even the precious barn kitties. 🐈🫶🏼

Naturally, it’s feeding time. I cherish this time in the morning. It’s just the animals and me, it’s perfect. In my humble opinion, it’s the best way to start the day.

Today is going to be a great day! We are moving ahead with our new home/farm and the tips of my toes are finally touching down. Each day I feel a little bit more grounded. That’s a win. 👌🏼🙌🏼

It’s been Theo Theo Theo lately. 🤪🙃😬

Patrón and Buttons are the saintly crew. Buttons has done a complete 180 since moving. We will not introduce in fields, but his behavior is that of a “normal” horse/pony. When he comes in at night, he eats and takes a nap. He’s quiet. 👌🏼🙌🏼🐴

Buttons and Patrón are loving the cows. In the mornings they trot TO the cows and the cows trot to them?! It’s wild. They graze through the fence near each other for quite a while. It’s nice to see.

Meanwhile, my other 3 (Sarg is my cow pony) want nothing to do with the cows. Horses are like people. All different personalities, likes, dislikes, idiocies; that’s what makes them fun.
