Who needs the winning walk-trot/crossrails pony that can also teach the canter?

Penny is the large pony every parent wants their child to ride. She is as sweet as she is beautiful, with a variety of "been there, done that" resume that is hard to find. She has been successful everywhere from local to IEA Nationals at Tryon (with top 5 finishes), proving she can handle the atmosphere of a big show while keeping her rider confident.

Most importantly, Penny is a total citizen. She’s patient for the farrier, easy to load, and a joy to have in the barn. She’s a steady, honest partner for a rider looking to learn the ropes and move up the ranks.

Available for lease only (in-house or out-of-barn to a select program). Located in Raeford, NC.

Penny is a Large Pony who’s done it all. From the first time a kid hits the saddle in leadline to their first blue ribbon in the Short Stirrup, she’s the ultimate packer.

The video below is with a crossrail kid, right off the trailer, no lunge. Penny is such a gem!

Congratulations to Alison Becker Howe on the purchase of Crown Point’s First Flight, "Oakley"!

Starting off in the hunter ring, he was beautiful and had a natural talent for jumping, but it became clear that wasn't his favorite choice.

Sometimes the horses choose their own path, and Crown Point’s First Flight did exactly that. After importing him in 2024, we realized Oakley preferred staying closer to the ground, trading jumps for the dance floor.

With his incredible work ethic and "eager-to-please" personality, we know he has found his perfect partner in Alison. We will certainly miss his face in the aisle, but we couldn't be happier to see him move into a home where he will continue to be loved and spoiled. We can't wait to see what this pair achieves together!

🚧 Traffic Alert: Montrose Road Closure Beginning April 13

⚠️ Important Travel Update for Carolina Horse Park Visitors

Beginning Monday, April 13, Montrose Road at NC Highway 211 (Aberdeen Road) will be temporarily closed due to ongoing road widening construction.
The closure is expected to last approximately two months, with reopening planned for mid-June, weather permitting.

This closure will affect access to the Carolina Horse Park, especially for those traveling via Montrose Road from Highway 211.

🚗 How This Affects Travel to the Horse Park
If you normally:
➡️ Turn onto Montrose Road directly from Highway 211
You will NOT be able to access Montrose from that intersection during construction.

🐎 Plan Ahead, Especially with Trailers
We strongly encourage all visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, and spectators to:
✔️ Allow extra travel time
✔️ Follow posted detour signage
✔️ Drive cautiously near construction areas
✔️ Share this update with others traveling to the Park

📍 Why This Is Happening
This closure is part of the NC Highway 211 widening project, which includes reconstructing the intersection at Montrose Road to match the new highway grade.
