Timor monitors are largely under appreciated in our hobby. It looks like I have a female normal phase (depicted here) and a female blue spot. Hoping I can acquire some males and product captive bred animals. Perhaps access to captive bred offspring will increase their popularity.

Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis). It’s so weird keeping snakes because they rarely eat(compared to monitors). This time of year I’m only feeding them once a month. When we hit winter I won’t offer them food for 3 months.

Agkistrodon contortrix in situ. I’m very happy to have found my first viperidae in my home state. I found this young individual emerging from a rock crevice mid morning. Seemed very curious and pretty unbothered by us or our cameras.

Another clutch of ackies is hatching out now. They have a much darker coloration than previous clutches. This is very interesting because I only have a pair of adults, so what is causing the variation? It could be genetic crossing over(natural built-in variation mechanism), incubation conditions, condition of female when forming eggs, etc. what do you guys think?
