Well I dropped off our girl ♥️😢. She goes under anesthesia in the morning sometime to look at her airway and hopefully be able to get it fixed . I've never done a surgery or anything like this . Hopefully she will be home sometime wensday. I'll be anxiously waiting for updates tomorrow. If you wish to donate you can call nives in fort wayne for dora. Meet Cora 💕
Cora is a 5 -week-old Great Dane puppy who is just beginning to take applications. Her mom is a Great Dane; dad is unknown. Even at this young age, Cora is already showing a curious and adventurous personality—she loves to explore the world around her.
Because of her size and needs, large-breed or Great Dane experience is strongly preferred.
Adoption details:
Great Dane mix
5 weeks old
Will be microchipped
Age-appropriate vaccinations
Dewormed
Started on heartworm prevention
⚠️ Spay Requirement:
A mandatory spay appointment at 18 months of age is required at the time of adoption. Due to her large-breed growth needs, allowing her body to fully mature is extremely important. Follow-ups will be conducted to ensure the appointment is kept.

Has a vet appointment January 29th and will be ready for adoption after that.

I guess my question is I would like to know what everyone's idea of fair adoption fees are. We have had so many people tell us our fee is to high for dogs . I know we aren't in this to make money but donations barley cover the cost of things to keep us going. Thats the truth.
Spay and neuter $330
Microchip $50
Shots $110 ish
Exam fees $50
This doesn't include optomologist appointments or any extra specialists for our special kiddos either.

Please note since we arnt a 501c3 yet our vet doesn't give us a discount but we love them and honestly they have to make money to. I would never want them to be without equipment etc .

I guess im trying to figure out if its really us or if people don't want to pay our fees .

I'll post a Betsy update although there isn't much to report. We are going on round 2 of antibiotics for her uti because she still has red blood cells in it. Basically the concern know is she might have a stone. So we are doing that and fluids 2 times a week. We will recheck in 10 days again and she has blood work again at the end of the month is the plan. If anyone wishes to donate it would be appreciated.

Can we get a few fosters? As a primary special needs rescue I understand that adoptions take longer and are harder to come by. The amount of people who have applied to adopt and then backed out last l minute after I put in all the work has been hard. I currently have a dog at animal control who is deaf that I would love to train and get out of there.

Wendy really could use a foster and be separated from Casper she is starting to get rough with him and show signs of littermate syndrome. I would ideally love a home for her but id take a foster for her.

The one at ac could also use a foster and ill teach you how to work with a deaf dog. . Id love to offer training sessions for her a few times a week if not just once a week.

Training
Support anything you need im not asking for perfection just anyone who is willing to work with our special kiddos. Id prefer you to be under an hr from us if possible just for ease of supplies but if your farther its ok to. I'll be honest this is the first time doing something like this but as former fosters ourselves we know how hard it is and won't abandon you.
