Quincy K-9 Connection - Animals in Need of Rescue, Quincy, IL When shelters ask for help, we respond by networking and transporting animals-at-risk to safe places. We primarily release to licensed rescues.

(DISCLAIMER) Quincy K9 Connection does not adopt to individuals like many shelters do. We post dogs/cats for different shelters with the goal of saving each from being euthanized. We will transport 20+ dogs/cats from Quincy every Saturday to licensed foster-home based rescue groups mostly around Chicago. (DISCLAIMER) We do not typically answer questions via Facebook. n attached to the animal's picture and you should receive a response fairly quickly. Our volunteers who maintain this page work full time and are busy caring for animals when not working. They do not have tons of time to monitor the page for questions.

Meet lovely Remmy! This 5-month-old female German Shepherd mix was found as a stray and is in immediate need of a safe placement! She is in a low-adoption animal control and at risk of euthanasia if not rescued.

🐾 QK9C is urgently looking for drivers this Saturday - and future Saturdays - to help transport rescue animals from Quincy to Springfield!

Here's what you need to know:

💖 A few hours of your time = a lifetime of safety for these sweet souls.
🛻 Van, crates, leashes, collars, and fuel are provided — all we need is YOU behind the wheel!
📍 Route: Quincy ➡️ Springfield, time is usually early AM - 5 am pick up, 6 am - 8 am to Springfield and then back to Quincy by 10 am.

Without transporters, animals can't move and will be euthanized.

🐾💔 In Loving Memory of Jelly Roll 💔🐾

Some dogs leave paw prints on our hearts forever — Jelly Roll was one of them.

We first met Jelly Roll in July 2023 when he was at Quincy Animal Control in rough shape. He had cataracts, glaucoma, bad hips, and Lyme disease. As an older gentleman, we worked hard to get him into a trusted rescue partner. Once he was placed, this wonderful rescue partner later found out he also had high blood pressure and kidney disease. But none of that dimmed his light.

This sweet soul found a second chance in the most beautiful way — as a long-term foster with a kind elderly woman and her granddaughter. He wasn’t just their dog; he was their companion. He gave comfort, laughter, and unconditional love, and in return, he got the softest beds, warm hugs, and a family who adored him.

Last week, Jelly Roll had a stroke and crossed the rainbow bridge. While we are heartbroken, we are filled with gratitude for the joy he brought and the love he gave.

His story is a beautiful reminder that the good work we do lives on.
Every transporter who helped move him to safety, every volunteer who showed up, every donor who gave, every rescuer who said yes, every cross-poster who shared his story — you made this life possible.

Rest easy, Jelly. You were so loved. 🐶🌈💕
