Quincy K-9 Connection - Animals in Need of Rescue, Quincy, IL When shelters ask for help, we respond by networking and transporting animals-at-risk to safe places. We primarily release to licensed rescues.

(DISCLAIMER) Quincy K9 Connection does not adopt to individuals like many shelters do. We post dogs/cats for different shelters with the goal of saving each from being euthanized. We will transport 20+ dogs/cats from Quincy every Saturday to licensed foster-home based rescue groups mostly around Chicago. (DISCLAIMER) We do not typically answer questions via Facebook. n attached to the animal's picture and you should receive a response fairly quickly. Our volunteers who maintain this page work full time and are busy caring for animals when not working. They do not have tons of time to monitor the page for questions.

🖤 Black Dog Syndrome is Real 🖤
For reasons we don’t fully understand, black dogs are often overlooked in shelters This heartbreaking trend means black dogs tend to wait longer for homes, and sadly, they’re more at risk when time runs out.

Right now, we have 5 incredible black dogs in Quincy who’ve been waiting far too long. Each one is loving, loyal, and ⏳ WAY past their time. We urgently need rescues or adopters to step up and save them this week! 💥QK9C will fully vet and spay/neuter these dogs for any rescue that steps up to commit to their future.

Meet Max – a 3–5-year-old neutered American Staffordshire Terrier who’s as close to perfect as they come! Picked up as a stray, he’s been in a foster home since late June, where he’s shown what a truly good boy he is! Max is a beautiful boy who is also:
✅ SMART & eager to please
✅ Housebroken & knows basic commands
✅ Rides like a dream in the car
✅ Rarely barks
✅ Great leash manners (power walker!)
✅ Gentle treat taker & polite at mealtime
✅ Gets along with the resident male & female dogs
✅ Ignores the foster’s cockatiel
Max is affectionate, loyal, and loves his people – he’ll rest his head on your lap or lean against you for snuggles. He’s playful, loves chasing balls and sticks, but should be in a cat-free home.

Meet Azalea, a darling of a mixed breed who should be chasing butterflies, learning new tricks, and curling up on someone’s couch — not sitting in a crowded shelter wondering if her person will ever come. Azalea is 9 months old, 22 pounds, and as sweet as can be! This petite black-and-white mixed breed is gentle, loving, and loves to lean in for hugs like she knows you’re her safe place. She’s already been dewormed, flea-treated, and given her DHPP vaccine — she’s ready to go!

Meet Onyx – a stunning 1-year-old black female mix, just 30 pounds and all muscle, all heart. She was abandoned at a critically full shelter in Quincy, IL. Her owner was contacted and never came back. Now she’s out of options.

Buddy’s world turned upside down when her owner passed away. Now this calm, easy-going Australian Shepherd is looking for a new family to love. Buddy's in a low-adoption, overcrowded animal control near Quincy, IL and needs rescue ASAP.

💖 Why Buddy’s amazing:

🐾Walks perfectly on a leash, even though she’s used to free roaming

🐾Loves attention and butt scratches 🐕

🐾Not reactive to other dogs
