Your child will get the opportunity to explore paint, clay, oil pastels, yarn, beads, glitter, up-cycled materials and more! We ask that a caregiver remain with children under 4, to be a helpful yet passive assistant with toilet break and clean up. You may show for any hour period from 11am-1pm. $10/one-hour $20/two-hours.
*Registration is not required, but highly recommended for us to save you a space in the classroom. Contact Alexandra Lone at [email protected] or text 502-475-7804 to register. Creative Kid's Art Club
Ages 5-11
1:30PM-3:00PM
Every Friday beginning June 16 - July 21st
Sliding Scale: $15 - $30 per class
Join our weekly Art Club! We meet every Friday for fun, new, interesting and experimental projects! Yes, we enjoy the basics of painting and drawing, but we'll also explore large scale art making, collaborative projects such as murals and sculpture, and open our minds to the not-so-common-creation of Found Object Art. This class requires you keep and bring a sketch pad each week to share new ideas. Class fee is based on what feels right for you and your family. The recommended sliding scale is from $15 - $30 per student for each club meeting, or $200 paid in full, for an Art Club Membership through the remainder of the year. Mixed-Media/Fiber Arts
Mixed-media refers to the use of more than one type of medium employed in the making of one’s artwork. In this class we will work with a wide variety of materials such as paint, pastels, cardboard, found objects, photographs, natural materials like feathers, leaves, or twigs. As well as incorporating fibers like yarn and up-cycled fabrics to create beautiful pieces of art that can tell a story, serve as a memorabilia piece, or send a bold statement to the viewer. This class allows a great amount of freedom of expression, but with the right amount of guidance for proper utilization of materials. This class is great for those who may enjoy collecting knick knacks, sticks, collage materials or photographs, as it is encouraged to bring these types of materials to class for a more personalized experience. Realistic Drawing
If your child’s interest is to further develop their skill in drawing animals, people, or objects in the world around them, then join our Realistic Drawing course! Each class reveals the artistry behind creating more life-like drawings; how to see and measure proportions, use value in shading to create shape and form. We will be working from books, photographs, and still-life, so your child is welcome to bring any special items or photographs they would like to learn to draw. Many kids love to draw their favorite animals or pets. Drawing and Painting
Our Summer Drawing and Painting course for teens and preteens is suitable for all skill levels and aims to foster young artist goals and interest, while giving them space to reach out of their comfort zone, try new subject matter, and materials. We will work from photos, still-life and will meet for an outdoors class as well. Some supplies are available, but it is recommended you bring your own drawing and painting materials. A supplies list and additional class information will be provided with your registration form.
