It’s funny, as a planner it never occurred to me that things might not go as planned. I remember when I had my second child, I just assumed it would go the same as the first. I never even considered I might need an emergency c-section. The same when I got laid off after 13 years at the same company, again never considered that as an option since I was a top performer.

The truth is, you never know what’s going to happen. Instead of being paralyzed in fear, USE those moments for the opportunities that they are. Often catapulting you into something SO much greater!

Why sleep on one bed when you can use two?

Did you know dogs are den animals? As direct descendents of wolves, dogs are den animals and are naturally most comforted in a nest-like area. They crave a secure space, and will probably make a makeshift den of their own if you don't provide it for them.

Even if you’ve never crated your dog, you might find them making their ‘den’ in other areas. For instance my dogs love to sleep under the table, in the crook of our sectional or even under the bed.

Both my dogs love their GinnyBin and 99% of the time I just leave the doors open for them. Need a den for your dog? I’d love to make them their own safe space with or without doors!

I always heard people say that phrase ‘you will never work a day in your life if you love what you do’. I always thought, I wonder what that’s like and if it’s really, honestly true for people. You know, normal people, not millionaires sitting on yachts. The truth is, it wasn’t until my world fell a part that I understood the true meaning of this. Not until I really did some forced soul searching that I found what ‘sparked joy’ in my life. Carpentry has transformed my definition of ‘work’. Suddenly, doing what I love isn’t work at all. I always have a plan. Since I was probably 5 I knew exactly how my life was going to go. I meticulously planned out every step, phase and journey. Which sounds amazing in theory doesn’t it? Until life happens and suddenly you are trying to reset, your expectations, your plans, your reality. It was during the most chaotic and unsettling times that I actually found myself. I found out not only who I am, but what I’m made of. My strength, my ability and my dreams. I’m still Type A and I still make plans and set goals but I also now allow for that unexpected.
