Sunday funday adventure post! We definitely get our share of exploring the state 😇. This round, my husband Joe took me on a birthday road trip after we finished harvesting. We got gifted with amazing leaf peeping, back dropped with the white snow that had fallen the night before. We spent time at 3 different hot springs, met a rockstar, stumbled upon decades-old memories, and found our future ranch entry arch. So much yes, thank you for taking us out babe.

How does that saying go? Oh yeah, “started from the bottom, now we here 😜😎.” The walipini is popping off this summer, happy plants 🌱 , happy pollinators 🐝🦋, and happy soil🪱! Five years of intentionally building up the soils nutrients to where it is now, gives the plants the opportunity to grow immaculately with no extra inputs except water. This gentle giant broke the hose as we were using it and decided it was the best place for a mud bath 🐷😂 I had to kick him out before he ruined the concrete foundation lol. We fixed the hose quickly after this, thank goodness!

Perfect weekend to re-model the walipini! We typically do at least one or two grow cycles in our zero-energy greenhouse, aka the walipini. It is an incredible space when things are in full swing. It features four XL living-soil beds. Living soil is an amalgamation of native soil, live compost, cover crop, extracted cannabis, mycological delights, and a very happy home to many worms and various critters 🐞🐌🦋🐛🦟🦗🕷💙. Needless to say, the microbiome is poppin’ 💁♀️. Beyond all that, it also exists as midwinter relief into a subterranean tropical oasis as the greenhouse runs at least roughly 20°F above outside temperatures if not more! We love the walipini and are so stoked to be making repairs finally! We’ve missed our plant time desperately 💚💚💚.
