One of the best ways to train your dog when you’re short on time?

Swap long sessions for multiple short ones, a few times a week.

Just 3–5 minutes, a few times a week, is all you need! This can be finding a quiet place in the yard, pausing during a commercial break, or taking time while the laundry freshens up.

Dogs often learn better in short, focused blocks of time than in long sessions that lead to distraction and frustration.

A few mini sessions throughout the week build real consistency — without needing to block off a big chunk of time.

Try it this week and see the difference.

If you want a well-trained dog but never have time, do these 3 things:

1. Train in 3–5 minute micro-sessions. Spread a few ultra-short sessions throughout your day (a few times a week) instead of waiting for a long block that never comes.

2. Turn everyday moments into training. Sit before meals, wait at doors, “watch me” before play. Implement training while life is already happening.

3. Teach a solid “place” or “go lay down”. Your dog learns to settle while you’re busy, eating, or have company. Super useful and quick to start.

I try to give real-life training tips for real homes.

Which one will you try first?

Training Tip Tuesday…But on a Wednesday 🤣🤣 because life is tough, I had some technical difficulties and a few personal things that took priority. However, I wanted to show up today regardless! Here goes…💥💥💥

Today we are flipping the script! Welcome back to Training Tip Tuesday! I’m Jackie, I’ve been in the dog boarding business for over 12 years, and the biggest training tip I can give you isn’t about teaching your dog a new trick but it’s about training YOURSELF to be the best dog owner you can be.

Most ‘problems’ with your dog happen because you haven’t learned how to communicate clearly with your dog. You haven’t trained yourself to be consistent, or read their signals. Your dog is always learning from you through your tone, your body language and your routine and sometimes we have it all mixed up!

Training yourself means mastering calm, confident energy. Learning to be consistent with your rules and rewards both inside and outside the home. And lastly, Understanding your dog’s breed, their specific needs and body language.

When you train yourself first, everything gets easier. You start to realize that maybe your dog isn’t stubborn, they’re just waiting for clear leadership! 💪🏻💪🏻

Start small this week and pick one thing to improve upon. Maybe it’s your walks - then focus on that only. If you aren’t sure how, we talked about that in an earlier series so go check it out ➡️.

🍄 There are lurking strangers in your yard… and they could be deadly for your dog.
Wild mushrooms pop up fast after rain and look harmless — but many are highly toxic. Even a small nibble can lead to serious illness or worse.
In today’s carousel + in Tuesday’s video I covered:
✅ Why mushrooms are so dangerous
✅ Warning signs if your dog eats one
✅ How to prevent it with solid “Leave It” & recall training
✅ Simple yard safety habits
