One of the hottest topics in the dog world is... What Food?
Personally I struggle to say what is the best?
A dog will survive on the lowest quality, cheapest food made. That said, I think quality is important for our dogs.
As many of you, cost point is huge, and performance.
At some point they have to cross. Is the dog performing, and is the food cost what I can afford?
For me them are big factors, but it can be broke down more too. Will they eat it? Like us if we had a choice between a Spam sandwich or a Fine 2.5 inch New York! I know some of ya are going with Spam! How do they look and is the performance sustainable? How do they rebound after workout?
As a small time breeder of Shorthairs, raising litters here and there, I have come to really like the VP food for what I said above! Quality and affordability! It so happens I run a few trials and something I have always noted, I don't feel as the dogs performance lacks.
Another big topic, blends!!! Is a 32/22 better than a 24/20? I do have an opinion, but it is just mine!
No! I don't believe more protein and fat is better. At least with 1 of my dogs, yet the price point is higher.
For about 2 months I have feed the Domonator series. Feed same amounts, and same workouts. I did not see anything less, or anything more. The only real difference was cost, and stool was a little hard. Ya i like just a little better than soft served ice cream.
Now these are my opinions, but also I hear from my customers what they experience. I often get new customers, and one of my few questions is, what type of dog, and how much exercise the dog gets.
Some of my biggest buyers are performance type dogs and more times than not I say Black or Red. Personally I love the Red of all of them. RED, is my least expensive blend.
Many also have house dogs that don't get the workouts. I go with the Orange and Blue....
Wish ya all the best!
