Cuddles and Purrs Rescue has rules just like the other rescues in town. If your "mommy cat" has passed, and you are requesting help with her two day old surviving neonatal kittens, you MUST sign a release form stating you are signing away your rights to those kittens to give them an optimal chance of survival. We can not take over the care of your motherless babies, and then give you back the babies down the road. I'm not sure why you think that's what Rescue's are supposed to do. You're not the first, and you will not be the last person to think this. All I can suggest is to either sign the kittens over to hopefully give them a chance of survival, or try and find a nursing mom on your own. You chose the latter, after yelling at me, and stating that we suck and aren't a rescue at all. I am truly sorry you feel this way, is all I can say. I'll just add this to my list of things to worry and stress about all night.

Kevin is at the veterinary clinic to be neutered and receive his second fvrcp shot today. Wish him well. 😻💙😊

As we closed out 2025, we eagerly anticipate the dawn of new beginnings in 2026. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been an integral part of our journey in 2025. We thank our compassionate veterinary staff, those of you who have generously donated to empower our rescue efforts enabling us to provide care and medical treatment to the kitties. We appreciate those who have opened their hearts and homes to our adoptable kittens/cats, and those who have selflessly cared for the feral kitties we've helped through TNR, as well as those who have assisted us in this endeavor. Lastly, we thank those who have helped spread awareness by liking and sharing our posts. We've had the privilege of helping transform the lives of 70 kitties, and we're honored to have played a role in their journey, even if it meant guiding a few of them to the 🌈 Bridge. Here's to new beginnings in 2026. We thank you all.

Happy New Year!

Cuddles and Purrs

We started out volunteering with other local rescue groups for several years, and decided to start our own small “Mom & Pop” rescue saving homeless kittens and some cats. Cuddles was our first rescue on our own. She was 14 hours old. Cuddles and Purrs will try to help abandoned/homeless kittens and occasionally some cats in the Knoxville area find loving forever homes based on foster home availability. We will not be able to take on many kittens/cats as we are a very small and home based rescue. Each kitten/cat will be accessed by a licensed vet, and will have their medical needs addressed. They are fed quality kitten/cat food. Once completely tested, spayed/neutered, given age appropriate shots, chipped, dewormed, flea treated, and most importantly healthy, the kittens will be looking for forever homes. There will be an application process for anyone interested in adopting. Applications submitted based on verification of information and the best fit for each kitty, not by who filled out an application first. Application can be found at https://form.jotform.com/91446963855168?fbclid=IwAR0EYq22Ph3w8a_Qlqojq6cMm_79jO7GPBXsvo0c1GAvh_-m6YBm40oNnYE

Cuddles and Purrs will direct inquiries on spay/neuter to low cost clinics throughout the area. You can find most of them here at https://www.spaytennessee.org/services.html
